Q3. Answer the following questions-

1) What is cell referencing? Explain relative and absolute in
detail with an example.
1) A cell reference is a cell address that can be used in a formula
to donate a specific cell.
Relative reference- In relative reference, when a formula that
possesses a relative reference is copied from one cell to another
cell the value in the copies also changes.

For Eg-A1=B1+C1, A2=B2+C2

Absolute Reference -In absolute reference, when a formula that

possesses an absolute reference is copied from one cell to
another cell the formula retains the original reference. We should
preceed with the column reference and the row reference by a
dollar ($) symbol.
For Eg- A1=B1+$C$1, A2=B2+$C$1

2) How is mixed referencing different from absolute

referencing?
2) Mixed referencing that refers to a specific column or row. It is
basically a combination of relative and absolute references.
We can block either a column or a row by preceding it with a
dollar symbol. For eg- $A1, A$1 whereas in absolute referencing,
refers to a specific cell. We can block a cell by preceding column
reference and the row reference by a dollar ($) symbol.
For Eg- A1=B1+$C$1, A2=B2+$C$1
Absolute Reference -In absolute reference, when a formula that
possesses an absolute reference is copied from one cell to
another cell the formula retains the original reference. We should
preceed with the column reference and the role reference by a
dollar ($) symbol.
For Eg- A1=B1+$C$1, A2=B2+$C$1

3) Differentiate between statistical functions and logical

functions

Statistical functions Logical functions

Statistical functions calculate Logical functions evaluate

the day ,month and year in a conditions such as X>5 and
date and the hour, minute and give the result as true or false.
second at a particular time.
For Example :- Input :- For example :- Input :-
=TODAY() =MAX(4,16,12,9)
Output: 10/23/2024 Output:- 16

4) Differentiate between formula and function in Excel with

examples.

Formulas Functions
Formula is a mathematical Functions are predefined
expression used to do simple and formulas in Excel to perform
complex calculation of the numeric both simple and complex
data inserted in a cell or a range . calculations .
For eg. =A2+B2 For eg. =SUM(A2:A8)
