Topic 2: Talk about the things you do regularly at work and three things you are doing at the
moment.

Topic 3: Talk about your own job

You should say:


 Which department you are in
 What exactly your department does
 What you are responsible for in your department?
 Who is in charge of your department?

 Which departments you have the most contact with?

Topic 4: Talk about a bad experience of customer service you have had.

You should say:


 What kind of customer service it was
 What problems you had
 How you contacted the company
 How the company responded to the problem
 What solution the company offered.

Topic 5: Talk about your experience of using the invention (Twitter/ Mobile phone/ World Wide

PART 3: CONVERSATIONS (3pts)
1. Making and receiving phone calls

Student A:
You ask to speak to Alex. You’re his ex-colleague. You want to meet him for lunch tomorrow.
You’re only in town for one day.

Student B:
You are Alex, working for ABC company. Your ex-coworker phones and wants to meet you for
lunch tomorrow, but you are out of town on business.

2. You choose one of the situations and have a conversation of complaint.

1. You ordered sandwiches and drinks for a working lunch with a customer in your company. The
catering company promised to deliver before 12.30 p.m. but it’s now 1 p.m. and you are still
waiting. Your customer does not look happy. You phone the catering company.

2. You have received an order from a computer supplier but there’s a mistake. You ordered 50
laptop computers with 15-inch screens, but they’ve sent you mini-computers with 10-inch screens
(and there are only 40!). You phone the supplier.

3. You asked a colleague to send you some PowerPoint slides for an important presentation you
have this morning. When you open your email, you see that he/ she has sent you slides for the
wrong product. Your presentation is in haft an hour. You phone your colleague.

can have a short sleep after lunch. Make a conversation to discuss and choose the best choice for
the company.
