Course Outcomes: Through this course students should be able to

CO1 :: study the fundamental concepts of e-commerce, including selling platforms, product
profiles, website aesthetics, and hosted platforms

CO2 :: create and manage e-commerce platforms, such as designing pages, creating blog posts,
and setting up refund and policy pages

CO3 :: develop a website, taking care of its security and reliability

CO4 :: demonstrate the ability to configure shipping models, manage orders, and utilize sales
channels

CO5 :: analyze various business models, website themes, and promotional strategies to
customize e-commerce platforms and optimize customer experiences.
CO6 :: assess the effectiveness of customer relationship management (CRM) tools, including app
integration, customer segmentation, and product review features, in driving customer
satisfaction.

Unit I
Fundamentals of e commerce : what are selling platforms and how to use them to list your
products, what is a hosted platform, create your account
Product profile for e commerce websites : how to add a simple product, how to add product
variants, maximize product SEO, how to add shipping information
Website aesthetics : how to add images, find images with shopify burst, other type of images
(augmented and virtual)
Unit II
Value creation through pages and blog posts : create a page, create a post, learn how to add
refund and policies, learn how to add images and videos to pages, learn how to add pages to
navigation
Unit III
Product shipping in e commerce : explore shipping models, configure free shipping, configure flat
rate shipping, print shipping labels
Managing orders in e commerce : view orders, customize order numbers

Sales channels in e commerce : understand sales channels, sell with facebook,instagram and
amazon
E commerce site management : add users, create discounts

Unit IV
Business models and website themes : select a theme, customize header and footer, customize
home page, customize checkout page
Payments, promotions and affiliate marketing : introduction to online payments, set up shopify
payments, set up other payment options
Unit V
Improving CRM through apps : understand apps, install product reviews, integrate with mailchimp,
integrate with customer support, adding users, customer segmentation
Unit VI
E commerce storefront : launch your store, set up shopify point of sale

Security and legal aspects : adding terms and conditions, handling non tangible items, adding
security features
