The poor performance of Nigeria’s hitherto state controlled power sector
resulting in unstable electricity Supply and frequent blackouts, has long
been seen by ordinary Nigerian as evidence of the Ineffectiveness their governments. However, the situation has not improved much since the privatization of much of the power sector in recent years, even with continued government subsidies for users. In Nigeria, there’s inconsistence supply of electricity by the power supplying company to the consumers. Hence the use of additional electric power source such as electric power generators and most recently the use of semiconductor power devices such as the bipolar transistor, Thyristors and particularly MOSFET to generate electric power in conjunction with a DC battery is needed (Omitola et al., 2014).
Due to the erratic power supply in the country, which is becoming
unbearable each day with its effect on the laboratory business and energy. power inverter can be substitute in the laboratory because of the need for constant power supply (Coker and Ogungi 2013).
The increasing global demand for sustainable and renewable energy
sources has led to significant advancements in solar power technology. Solar energy is recognized for its minimal environmental impact, abundance, and potential to reduce dependence on fossil fuels (Kalogirou, 2009). In the quest for effective energy solutions, inverters play a crucial role, particularly in solar power systems. An inverter is a device that converts direct current (DC) generated from solar panels into alternating current (AC) for use in household or commercial applications (Nesheiwat, 2012).
The solar inverter makes use of an energy source such as electricity,
photovoltaic to be domestically and industrially relevant for Use, as in sort goes a long way to reduce the levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and alleviate this global warming on process. The photovoltaic power generation is reliable. It involves no moving parts and the operation and maintenance costs are very low (Coker and Ogungi 2013).
A 12V, 2KVA solar panel-powered inverter integrates high efficiency and
performance with renewable energy, catering to the rising demand for off- grid power solutions. As energy costs continue to rise and concerns over climate change grow, the development of efficient solar inverter technologies has become crucial in promoting energy independence and sustainability. The solar powered inverter solves most of the disadvantage of the generator set regarding cost of fuel, noise pollution and air pollution. The high frequency power inverter is an able alternative power supply source for homes, laboratories, healthcare center etc. with bad electricity supply from electricity utility companies. The focus of this project is on the design and construction of a high-frequency solar-powered inverter rated at 12 V, 2 KVA, with an output of 220 V AC. The need for such inverters is underscored by the increasing implementation of solar energy systems globally, which has highlighted the necessity for efficient power conversion and management solutions (Ravi et al., 2017).
