SUBJECT Science (Elementary Level)

TOPIC Introduction to the Basic Parts of a Plant

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to achieve 75% accuracy in the
following:
1. Identify the different parts of a plant.
Understand the functions of each part.
2. Explain the relevance of each part of a plant.
II. Subject Matter: a. Topic: Introduction to the Basic Parts of a Plant
b. Materials
 3D illustration showing the basic parts of a plant
 Laptop
 Projector
 Whiteboard
 Marker
c. Time Allotment: 1 Hour

III. Procedure: 7Es  Elicit (5 minutes)

 Activate prior knowledge through a brain teaser related to plants.
 Engage (10 minutes)
 Present 3D illustrations showing different parts of a plant such as the
stem, leaf, fruit, and flower.
 Explore (10 minutes)
 Provide students with an unlabeled plant diagram.
 Instruct learners to label the basic parts of the plant correctly.
 Explain (10 minutes)
 Allow students to explain the function of each plant part.
 Provide necessary corrections and clarifications.
 Elaborate (15 minutes)
 Present a PowerPoint presentation to further explain and elaborate on the
concepts about plant parts.
 Evaluate (10 minutes)
 Conduct a short quiz (10 items) where students match the parts of the plant
to their respective functions.
 Extend (Homework/Extension)
 Assign students to draw their favorite plant at home, label its parts, and
write 3–5 sentences explaining why each part is important for the plant’s
survival.
QUESTIONS:
1. What Educational/Learning Theory will Constructivism will be use.
you use in the Lesson Plan?
2. Discuss the strategy that you used based
on the theory. The theory of constructivism focuses on active learning
where students build their own understanding and enables
students to construct or apply their learning in the real life
situation.
Elicit and Engage: Activating prior knowledge (brain
teaser) to connect with what they already know.
Explore: Students engage in hands-on activity (labeling a
plant diagram), encouraging discovery.
Explain: Learners articulate their ideas, helping them
organize and clarify their thinking.
Elaborate: A detailed explanation (PowerPoint) builds
on their initial ideas.
Extend: The drawing and writing activity allows students
to personalize and apply their knowledge.

3. How Technology was utilized in the Technology will be use to enhance visualization and
Lesson Plan? engagement through this advancement of technologies the
teacher will able to conduct the lesson efficiently and
easier to be able to understand the lesson easily. This
technology will make the learning more engaging and
interactive to comprehend complex ideas.
Laptop and Projector: Display 3D illustrations and the
PowerPoint presentation, helping students better visualize
the parts of a plant.
3D Illustrations: Provide a more interactive and realistic
understanding of how plant parts appear in real life.
