CONDUCT OF COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT DEMONSTRATION

Introduction

Good morning everybody, my name is VIC ANTHONY N. SUBRIO; I am an

accredited Competency Assessor for DRIVING NC II.

I would to like acknowledge the presence of our guest this morning ATTY. BRIX
ANDO; one of the members of our Accredited Competency Assessment Center and
ENGR. ALFREN ABELLA; our representative from TESDA Provincial Office.

You do not have to worry about their presence. They are here to oversee the conduct
of competency assessment and to check if the conduct is in accordance with the
prescribed competency assessment methodology and procedures. They will not
assess you.

Before i start, let me first check the attendance. Please present to me your admission
slip once your name is called (refer to the attendance and compare the signature in
the admission slip)
Orientation

I have here with me your accomplished self-assessment guide. This is an indication

that you know and can perform all the units of competency enumerated in this
qualification.

1. Today, I am going to administer Competency Assessment for DRIVING NC II. This

qualification level with 4 units, under Core Competency.
 UC1: Carry out minor maintenance and servicing
 UC2: Drive Light Vehicles
 UC3: Obey and observe traffic rules and regulations
 UC4: Implement and coordinate accident-emergency procedures
 This 4 units of competency are clustered to form 1 assessment package for full
qualification for DRIVING NC II

3. The purpose of this assessment is to certify that you meet the standard requirements
in all
units of competencies in this Qualification. And, this certification serves as your
evidence that you
have acquire all the skills required in the competency standard and you can use it for
a job
application or promotion.

4. And also this assessment is composed of Written examination, Demonstration and

oral
questioning.
5. You will be given 20 minutes for your written test, 2 hours for your Demonstration
and 30 minutes for the oral questioning.

6. As an assessor, I will guide you, I will be observing you while you are performing,
record my
observation and I will ask questions related to the task you are performing afterwards.

7. By the way, you can have your snacks in the canteen located at the back of this
building and for
your own personal necessities the comfort room is located at the left side of this
building.

8. Rules to be observed during assessment

These are the do’s and don’ts during the assessment.
1. I will not leave the room while you are performing.
2. I will record my observation
3. I will not disturb or interrupt you while you are performing.
4. I will always observe your safety precautionary measures when
performing.
6. And I will stop you if accident happens while performing the task.

9. You may call me if you find it hard to understand, when there is a need for me to
translate. I will
explain it to you in your own vernacular or dialect so that you can understand and
interpret the
instructions. I will consider your Religion, Culture, Language, Physical Condition and
Disabilities.

10. After the conduct of different assessment methodologies, feedback will be given to
you.
The assessment has two results either COMPETENT or NOT YET COMPETENT.
Whatever is the
result of your assessment will be taken with utmost confidentiality.

11. If found COMPETENT your Competency Assessment Result Summary or CARS will be
issued to
you. Bring the CARS to TESDA Provincial Office for the issuance of your National
Certificate.
Bring with you your 2 pcs passport size ID with WHITE Background and with COLLAR
and your
 certification fee of 50 pesos.

12. But if found NOT YET COMPETENT, do not worry you can apply for reassessment
after a month
or anytime if you feel that you have acquired all the skills required in the Unit of
Competency
based on the Standard Requirements in this Qualification.

13. If you are not satisfied with the result of your assessment you have the right to
appeal.

 If none, you can have now your WRITTEN TEST. Please read the instruction
carefully. Do not write anything on the questionnaire but instead write your
answer on a sheet of paper that I will give you. Be sure to write your name on
the first line. You’ll be given 20 minutes to answer the following questions. You
may start now.
Performance Test

 For your Performance Test and Oral Questioning. I will assign your number
based on your attendance. CANDIDATE #1 _______ you will be the first to enter
into the assessment room. CANDIDATE #2 ______ and the rest please stay at the
waiting area and wait until your name to is called.

Specific Instructions:

Here are the materials and tools to complete the task.

Using the tools and equipment, you are required to:

1. Perform the correct pre starting and warm up of the light vehicle for 10 mins.
2. Drive light vehicle in accordance with the traffic rules and regulation for 30
mins.
3. Perform monitoring and maintaining vehicle performance as per
manufacturer standards for 30 mins.
 I will be observing you while you are performing the tasks and record my
 observation.
 And I will ask questions related to the task that you are performing
afterwards.
 You may call me if you find it hard to understand, when there is a need
for me to translate. I will explain it to you in your own vernacular or
dialect so that you can understand and interpret the instructions.
 After the questioning, I will give feedback about your performance.
 Any questions/clarification? If there are no more questions, you may
start now. The time is 9 O’clock you are expected to finish your task at
10:10. Please observe safety precautionary measures while performing
your task.

We are now in the last part of our assessment the oral questioning. Are you ready?
Please have a set.

Feedbacking

I have here the result of your assessment. I would like to request candidate # 1 to please
stay and the rest please stay outside for a while.

Scene #1 (COMPETENT)

 ______ based on the results of your written test, oral questioning and your
performance in different unit of competency in Driving NCII. You have done
everything and you performed the task within the standard requirements of this
qualification. Congratulations you have pass the entire test given.

You are competent. (Present the rating sheet) Please sign the rating sheet. Sign
the cars. You can get your National Certificate from the TESDA Provincial Office after a
month and look for Shella G. Cabalum, the focal person. Bring with you your 2pcs
passport size id with WHITE background and with COLLAR. Prepare 50 PESOS for the
certificate.
So again, congratulations. You may now proceed to the assessment focal office for
the evaluation.

Scene #2 (NOT YET COMPETENT)

Miss/Mr. _____ based on your actual performance on the different assessment procedures
undertaken today; I would like to inform you that you performed well on written test and
in some units of competency.

However, I observe that you have to improve on the 1 st competency which is to drive the
vehicle in accordance to the traffic rules and regulations.
The next time that you do the tasks please observe correct procedures in performing the
task.
I AM SORRY; you were not able to perform within the standard requirements of the
qualification. You have to review/practice the activities related to the competency
requirements of the qualification further.
Anyway, you can apply for reassessment after a month when you feel confident enough
that you have acquired the competence. Don’t worry you will only be reassessed on Unit
of competency which you do not perform well.

may now proceed to the assessment focal office for the evaluation.
