Physics 2c

The document outlines a practical examination for Form Four students in Physics, consisting of two main questions related to oscillation and electrical circuits. Students are instructed to set up apparatus, conduct experiments, and record results for analysis. The examination includes tasks such as tabulating results, plotting graphs, and determining specific values related to the experiments.

1. You are provided with a retort stand, a string of length 110cm, a stop watch, 50g mass, cork
pads and a metre rule

Proceed as follows;
a). Set up the apparatus as shows;

b). Start with laugh, L = 10cm, displace and release the 50g mass to allow it oscillating.
Determine the time, t taken for the number of oscillation, n = 20.
c). Repeat the procedure in 1(b) above for the valves of L = 20cm, 30cm, 40cm and 50cm.

QUESTIONS
i. Tabulate your results including the valves of t2 (s2)
ii. Plot a graph of t2 (s2) against L (cm)
iii. Find the slope of the graph
iv. Determine the value of z given that;

t2 = 4 2
n2 L
Z
v. What is the significance of Z ?
