Experience: NIH Center of Information and Technology, summer 2008 Firsthand experience in network management. -I assisted in installing new hardware in the Helix cluster Programming in HTML and Perl. More information on the Helix group can be found at http://helix.nih.gov -I wrote batch files to launch jobs on the Helix cluster Utilization of Linux/Unix operating systems, and the mySQL database. -I worked on multiple machines to draw and place data into the mySQL database. Repair of workstation computers. -I replaced malfunctioning parts in Helix cluster nodes. NIH Center of Information and Technology, summer 2009 Further experience in networking -I assisted in installing new hardware and operating systems on new nodes in the Helix cluster. Creation and maintenance of websites -I assisted in creating new webpages for the helix.nih.gov domain. Further interaction with the Perl, HTML, and Javascript programming languages, as well as vast experience with the Unix, Windows, and Apple operating systems. -I wrote scripts with purposes ranging from the sorting of emails to the modification of an interactive GUI to properly show the status of nodes in the Helix cluster.

I first began programming in a high school C++ class. I have since then taken multiple classes in C++ and Java, and experimented on my own with Perl. I have also assembled circuits on a breadboard, and soldered as part of my college education. Currently, I am majoring in Computer Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. In the future I plan to minor in artificial intelligence, and learn more about the logic of machines. Skills: Through my own research, my classes, and my experience at my internships, I have learned many aspects of computer science, as well the functionality of a professional workplace. I am able to program freely in Java, C++ and Perl, work in the Linux and Widows environments, set up and monitor computer networks and create web pages. Lately, I have also mastered Matlab, and the art of processing three-dimantional images. Additionally, I have also learned to work as part of a team, and manage my time around a 40-hour work week.
