The role modles to Muslims after Prophet Mohemmed [P.B.U.H] are His [P.B.U.H] four immediate rightly-
guided companions.
All Muslims are unanimous in their recognition that those four rightly-guided caliphs are the best human
beigns after prophets and messengers.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF CALIPHS;
The first four rightly-guided companions of Prophet [P.B.U.H] emulated Him in the following aspects as
well as others with regard to leadership:
1. They paid less attention to worldly gains, despite the riches of the state being at their desposal.
2. They were fair and just to all human beigns in all aspects of legal affairs.
3. They feared to commit opperession or tryanny and made sure whatever they did was accurate and
proper.
4. They avoided claming leadership and when elected, they abhorred arrogance.

HAZRAT ABU BAKAR [R.A]
• The first caliph Abdullah, also known as Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique [R.A] born on 572
A.d in Makkah, thus was two years younger than the holy Prophet [P.B.U.H].
"No one has been a better companion to me than Abu Bakar," said the holy Prophet
[P.B.U.H].
• All his life he stood by the side of Prophet [P.B.U.H]. He was also to lie in the eternal rest
by the Prophet's [P.B.U.H] side. He [R.A] was also Prophet's [P.B.U.H] father-in-law.
• His [R.A] father's name was Uthman, but he was known as Abu Qahafa. Salma was his
[R.A] mother's name, also known as Umm-ul-Khair.
• He [R.A] belonged to branch of of Quraish. He [R.A] was by profession a wealthy
merchant.
• He [R.A] was given the title of Siddique, Ghar-e-Yar.
HAZRAT ABU BAKAR [R.A]
• First man to accept Islam. He [R.A] was very close friend to Prophet
[P.B.U.H] so He [R.A] was first along men to believe Prophet's
[P.B.U.H] mission.
• He [R.A] dealt with many problems after Prophet [P.B.U.H].
• During his [R.A] Qura'an was compiled by Hazrat Zaid Bin Haris. He [R.A]
compiled Qura'an in one place.
HAZRAT UMER [R.A]

• The the second caliph Hazrat Umar was born in 581 A.D.
• Belonged to Adi Tribe of Qureysh in Makkah.
• About 10 years younger than the holy Prophet [P.B.U.H] and both shared same ancestors.
• He [R.A] participated in all battles of Islam with Prophet [P.B.U.H].
• He [R.A] was also one of the few educated persons, who could read and write.
• Immeditely after becoming the caliph, He [R.A] led Arab raids into both the Roman and
Sassanid empires. Both raids were very successful.
• The incident of Hazrat Umar [R.A] accepting Islam is very heartwarming and touching.
HAZRAT UMAR [R.A]
• The third caliph Hazrat Usman [R.A] was born in Taif on 577 C.E.
• Father's name was Affan Ibn Abu Al-Abaas and mother's name was
Urwa bint Kariz.
• Kindness and softness were only weapons with Him [R.A].
• Issues during caliphate: People who wanted to create chaos among
the Muslims took advantage of Hazrat Usman's [R.A] soft nature.
They spread false news.
• Hazrat Ameer Muawiah [R.A] defeated Romans.
HAZRAT USMAN [R.A]
• Hazrat Ali [R.A], the fourth caliph, was born in the holy Ka'abah in
600 A.D.
• Father's name Abu Talib Ibne Abdul Mutalib and mother's name
Fatima Bint-e Assad.
• He [R.A] was given the title of Al-Murtadha (one whom Allah is
pleased).
• From His [R.A] childhood, accompanied Prophet [P.B.U.H]
whenever He went to cave of Hira
• Prophet [P.B.U.H] was Himself Hazrat Ali's [R.A] guardian.
