Introduction:

About cloud front-end platform that can include car owner, mobile devices.
Back-end platforms, such as servers and storage Cloud-based delivery.
Literature Review:
Over the years, there have been several regulations made by the
Government to control the emission from vehicles; most of them being unsuccessful at
the same. The standards and the timeline for implementation are set by the Central
Pollution Control Board under the Ministry of Environment & Forests.

2.1 Vehicle pollution monitoring and controlling using IoT, 2015:

The standardized values for the emission levels are referred. The sensing of the emitted
gases are done using various sensors and devices. The past decade, has seen several
research activities that have been taking place to develop semiconductor gas sensors.
The quality of air in the car cabin was analyzed using semiconductor (MOS) gas
sensors.
2.2 Vehicular pollution monitoring using IoT, 2017:

The semiconductor sensors have been used to detect the pollutant level of the
vehicles. It concentrates mainly on three blocks; smoke detector, microcontroller and
fuel injector. The smoke detector detects the pollutants (CO, NOx, etc.) continuously.
The microcontroller compares the level of pollutants with the stipulated level allowed
by the government. When the pollutant level exceeds the standardized limit, it sends a
signal to the fuel injector. On receiving a signal from the controller, the fuel injector
stops the fuel supply to the engine after a particular period of time.
Need of Project

• Every road driver need to follow certain set of traffic rules and regulations.
This rules for ensure smooth functioning of the pollution free country.

• Major reasons for the following accidents are happening due to the
Drowsiness and driver fatigue nature during the driving or lack of sleep is one of
the major reasons for drowsiness. So there may be chances of road accidents.
Project objective:

• The objective of this project is to provide a platform that monitors the parameters
and help to create better and pollution free future life.
• To build real time application which can be used to detect the drowsiness in driving
conditions and alert the driver whenever drowsiness is detected.
• Get SMS notification
• To detect the smoke by smoke detector Sensor
• Get vehicle location using GPS
Problem statement
To monitoring and detect polluted vehicle with its range of
pollution which helps to control pollution and reduce global warming by using IoT,
GPS and sensors.

Modules:

1.Smart Vehicle Monitoring Android Application:

In the user side, wifi is to be activated on user’s smartphone to access updates
ofpollution rate of vehicle.. We have also designed an interface for the mobile app that
can beintegrated with the hardware for vehicle pollution monitoring. In the working
condition, the appdisplays admin login to the user for registration. The app displays the
pollution rate information, date and time, vehicle number and inform to user service their
car.

2.SMS Gateway:
An SMS gateway or MMS gateway allows a computer to send or receive Short
MessageService or Multimedia Messaging Service transmissions to or from a
telecommunicationsnetwork. Most messages are eventually routed into the mobile
phone networks.
3.Hardware Module:
After starting the system, we have to connect all the sensors to the microcontroller so
that sensors get interfaced with microcontroller. Then process the data using
microcontroller and embedded ‘c’ in Arduino uno. Send AT commands to wi-fi module
. Microcontroller starts processing data over an Internet. After processing, the
embedded ‘c’ is uploaded in Arduino. Using hotspot, user can access internet browser
on their smartphones or laptops.
4.Server:
Vehicle registration done at server side. Server machine will import the data into its
Database and it will perform aggregations operations. After that, one value will be
obtained at the end and it will get compared to Threshold value. If obtained value is
greater than Threshold value then the Vehicle owner and RTO officer will get a warning
message with the corresponding Vehicle ID.

Requirements:

1. Hardware Requirements:
1.1 Arduino Uno
1.2 WIFI Module
1.3 SMS Gateway
1.4 Sensor: MQ 135

2. Software Requirements:

2.1 Platform: Windows 10, 64 bit

2.2 IDE Android Studio: 3.2.1,Xampp
2.3 Language: Java,php
2.4 Database: MySql
CONCLUSION:

• Our Project mainly focuses on two things. The First thing is the concept of
detecting the level of Pollution and indicating it to the driver. There is an
increase in the level of Pollution over the last couple of decades, leading to
several Environmental problems.

• There will be a huge population, who do not take the pollution from their
vehicles seriously, which has already resulted in several environmental
problems such Ozone layer depletion and so on. So, this system will be highly
beneficial is curbing this problem.

• The second reason is that this system will be one of the greatest
improvements in technology to keep the Environment free from vehicular
emission and bring it to a halt if the Pollution level is more than the Standards
mentioned by the Government.
