Architecture Tools
The document discusses various tools that architects use for design and drafting. It describes tools like T-squares, set squares, compasses, protractors, pencils and erasers. T-squares are used to draw horizontal lines while set squares help draw vertical and diagonal lines. Compasses are used to draw perfect circles. Protractors aid in measuring and drawing angles. Pencils like HB and 2B are used for drafting and come in varying hardness. Erasers help remove mistakes. Architects rely on precision tools to carefully plan and design buildings.

Sheikh Roll no:19AR101 Submitted To: Ms. Mahjabeen Architecture Tools • An architect’s main responsibility is to plan out and design part or all of a building. The tools allow the architect to carefully design but they also allow them to change the design and/or change their mistakes without having to start over. • There are several different tools that architects use to measure straight lines, perfect lines, and precise angles. Some of these tools include triangular scales, compasses, parallel gliders, and rulers. Different Architecture Tools 1. T- Scale 2. Set Square 3. Compass 4. Protractor 5. Pencil 6. Sharpener 7. Eraser T-SCALE • DEFINE • A T-square is a technical drawing instrument used for drafting and to draw a horizontal lines on a sheet. It may also guide a set square to draw vertical or diagonal lines. Its name comes from its resemblance to the letter T. • A T-square has two components—the long shaft called the "blade" and the short shaft called the "stock" or "head". The T-square usually has a transparent edge made of plastic which should be free of nicks and cracks in order to provide smooth, straight lines SET SQUARE DEFINE A right-angled triangular square shape used to draw especially a vertical lines A set square or triangle is an object used in engineering and technical drawing, with the aim of providing a straight edge at a right angle or other particular planar angle to a baseline There are three types of set square 30,45 and 60 degree and they all are used to make the angle of 90 degree COMPASS • DEFINE • A protractor is a device used in drafting and drawing: it's mainly used for drawing and measuring angles. • It has wide application in architectural and mechanical drawing, although now a days its uses is decreasing with the availability of modern drawing software or CAD PROTRACTOR • DEFINE • A protractor is a device used in drafting and drawing: it's mainly used for drawing and measuring angles. • It has wide application in architectural and mechanical drawing, although now a days its uses is decreasing with the availability of modern drawing software or CAD PENCIL • Types of pencils: 1. H Pencil 2. B pencil 3. HB Pencil 4. 2HB Pencil 5. 2B Pencil H PENCIL • H pencils indicate a hard lead • The higher the number on the H side of the scale, the lighter the mark will be B PENCIL • B pencils indicate the blackness (or softness) of the lead • The higher the number is on the B side of the scale, the darker the mark will be 2B PENCIL • The 2B pencil has a higher blackness, and the marks drawn are relatively black • The pencil lead of 2B pencil is relatively soft • The main component of 2B pencil lead is graphite • 2B pencil is darker in color and lower in hardness HB PENCIL • HB pencil has a lower blackness, and the color of the marks drawn is relatively light • pencil lead of HB pencil is very hard, which is not easy to break • composition of HB pencil is in addition to half of the graphite, and some other colorless substances • It is suitable for writing, Besides, HB pencil is also suitable for marking on hard objects ERASER • An eraser, is an article of stationery that is used for removing marks from paper or skin. • An architecture eraser is a special soft eraser used in draw a several types of drawings including technical drawings SHARPNER • A pencil sharpener is a tool for sharpening a pencil's writing point by shaving away its worn surface. THANK YOU…
