Tassani Communications – Breaking the norms since 1980
Started by :- Dashing “Sally Tassani”

Why was it unique ? - It was Build on the concept of Integrated

marketing, breaking the stereotypes of the traditional advertising
agencies.
Sally Tassani and Jim Paglia
Sally Tassani
• CEO and president
• True Entrepreneur, Hardworking
• Great networking skills
• Maternal and always thankful to employees
Jim Paglia
• Executive VC and chief operating officer
• Creative Clearing House for the Agency
• Knows how to best implement needs of the client

They formed a great team and their Leadership attracted Clients.

Problems in their Management techniques
• The creative heads were always exceeding the Pre determined fees -
leading to ineffective cost Management

• They focussed more on personalized service - The time and energy for
such effective service will not contribute for the growth of the company

• They had separate revenue goals for every Department but – no

separate profit centres and thus leading to lack of accountability.

• Conflicts between Accounts and Creative Department

The Protagonist

Amelia Rogers
• Joined TC in 1988 as Accounts Director

• Responsible for managing client relationship, understanding

the client’s objectives and making sure the objectives are met

• “Hub of the wheel” - making sure different departments are

interfacing effectively to meet client’s needs.
The Antagonist

Dave Burns
• Dave Burns- Creative director in TC, responsible for managing
the delicate relationship between his staff and the rest of TC

• Supposed to “pitch” creative ideas to clients, communicating

creatives’ vision in a compelling and inspirational manner.

• Responsible for convincing clients to consider some of the

original creative ideas for the project.
Problem, Problem, Problem !!!!

Dave is not clear about his role in approaching the client

and should never communicate with client directly
without clearing with as his role is of creative not the
account which shows poor collaboration and inability on
Amelia’s part to handle her team.
Recommendations
Amelia should talk to Burns directly and try to explain him about
how clients interests are the most important thing for a business
like theirs.

If Burns doesn’t listen to her, she should then go and talk to Jim
and explain the issue to her.

A meeting should be conducted where Jim addresses both of

them and tries to settle the issue. Thus, they proceed with the
other alternative which the clients were interested in.
