+ Socio-economic status refers to the category of persons or
family who have more or less the privileges in a society. These
privileges are due to inherited wealth, wealth from your parents
or from your grandparents, and/or the occupational status of
the breadwinner (member in a family who provide the needs
and wants of the family) in the household. (Santarita and
Madrid, 2016).

In the Philippines, three types of social classes are
identified:
 Upper class- consists of elite families
 Middle class- is composed of small business and industry
operators mostly owners and managers, professionals,
overseas Filipino workers (OFW), office workers, farm owners
with income sufficient enough to provide a comfortable and
decent living.
