The merging of the National Manpower and Youth


Council (NMYC), the Bureau of Technical-
Vocational Education of the Department of
Education, Culture and Sports (BTVE-DECS) and
the Apprenticeship Program of the Bureau of Local
Employment (BLE) of DOLE gave birth to TESDA

education and skills development of the
Filipino workforce.

TESDA sets direction, promulgates relevant standards
towards, and implement programs geared towards a
quality-assured and inclusive technical education and
skills development and certification system.

MAJOR PROGRAMS AND
SERVICES OF TESDA
Program Registration and
Accreditation
-is the mandatory registration of Technical Vocational
Education and Training (TVET) programs with TESDA.

- It is the system that ensures compliance of Technical


Vocational Institutions (TVIs) with the minimum
requirements as prescribed under the promulgated
training regulation.
Competency Assessment and
Certification

- seeks to determine whether the graduate or


worker can perform to the standards expected
in the workplace based on the defined
competency standards.
- Certification is provided to those who meets the
competency standards.
Types of Certification

 National Certificate (NC) -


issued to individuals who
have achieved all the
required units of
competency of a national
qualification defined under
the promulgated Training
Regulations
 Certificate of
Competency (COC)
- issued to individuals
who were
assessed as competent
in a single unit or
cluster of related units
of competency
Requirements for the

 Competency Assessment Result Summary (CARS)
 Picture- 1 pc. (Passport size, 3.5cm x 4.5cm, Head size (from
forehead to chin) – 27mm to 31 mm, Colored with white background,
T-shirt/dress with collar/business attire, Paper not glossy, no stapled
damaged, Not an edited/express photo nor 3-minute ID photo, Without
hat, headdress, eyeglasses or sunglasses)

Qualification of Beneficiaries: Scholarship Benefits:

 Free skills training


Must be a Filipino citizen
 Free assessment
 Training allowance
At least 18 years of age and
above at the time he/she
finishes the training program.
The approved standard fees
of PESFA , TWSP shall be
strictly applied. The TVIs
shall not exact any additional
training fees from the
beneficiaries.
Dual Availment of Scholarship

 Dual Availment
provided that the training is availed of one at a
time and only for scholar-beneficiaries covered
under the Circular. ”

towards higher level qualification

ORGANIC AGRICULTURE PRODUCTION NC
II (232 HOURS) 29 DAYS
Commitment of Undertaking
 Undergo pre-qualifying process in accordance with the industry pre-hiring
requirements;
 Fill up all the items in the Learners Profile correctly and appropriately;
 Participate actively in the Training Induction of Scholars before the conduct of the
training program;
 Attend and comply with the required duration of the training program;
 Undergo the mandatory assessment as applicable;
 Attend graduation ceremonies and other Scholar/TVI activities;
 Participate actively in the Job Linkaging of the TVET provider;
 Practice good manners and right conduct at all times;
 Be a member of the TESDA’s Alumni Association
