    During the height of China’s civilization, the


    Chinese extended their Confucian beliefs and
    Buddhist doctrines to nearby Korea and Japan.
    The intercultural relations among these three
    nations are shown in the similarities of the motifs
    of their folk arts.

    The Chinese, Korean, and Japanese appear to


    establish their culture based on Chinese
    traditions and beliefs of Confucianism,
    Buddhism, and Taoism. Particular doctrines of
    these religions have long been practiced in China
    before they spread to Korea and Japan.
