PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE

How do we formulate present perfect continuous tense ?


KALIMAT POSITIF
Rumusnya : Subject + Have/Has + Been + Verb-ing
Verb : Study
Example :
 I have been studying English
 We have been studying English
 He has been studying English

 Gunakan have been untuk subject I, you, They and we.


 Gunakan has been untuk subject He, she and It.
KALIMAT NEGATIF
Rumusnya : Subject + Have/Has + NOT + Been + Verb-ing
Verb : Study
Example :
 I haven’t been studying English
 We haven’t been studying English
 He hasn’t been studying English

 Untuk subject I, you, they, and we gunakan have not been ( haven’t been )
 Untuk subject he, she, and it gunakan has not been ( hasn’t been)
KALIMAT TANYA
Rumusnya : Have/Has + Subject + Been + Verb-ing ?
Verb : Study
Example :
 Have I been studying English ?
 Have you been studying English ?
 Has he been studying English ?

Kata kerja tersebut termasuk ke dalam state verbs, yaitu mengacu pada keadaan dan
bukan pada tindakan atau proses.
Example :
 They have been being here for two hours = They have been here for two hours.
 I have been knowing her since 2010 = I have known her since 2010.
 He has been understing the explanation = He has understood the explanation.
PENGGUNAAN
When do we use present perfect continuous tense ?
PENGGUNAAN
Untuk menyatakan tindakan yang dimulai dimasa lalu dan masih berlanjut sampai sekarang,
biasanya menggunakan for and since.
 For (selama) menunjukkan berapa lama tindakan itu telah berlangsung.
 Since (sejak) menujukkan waktu dimulainya suatu tindakan dimasa lalu.

Example :
 She has beeen washing clothes for two hours.
 They have been learning English since junior high school.
 He hasn’t been playing football since last week.
KESALAHAN UMUM

I have been doing my homework = I have doing my homework since yesterday

It has been raining three times this month = It has rained three times this month.
