WHAT IS A TELESCOPES
A Telescopes is an instrument that allows us to observe
distant objects in space , such as starts , planets , galaxies ,
and other celestial bodies .
It consists of a combination of lenses and mirrors that
gather light and focus it to magnify and enhance our vision.
Telescopes help us explore the universe , discover new
objects ,and better understand the workings of the cosmos.
By observing the sky with a telescopes , we can marvel at the
beauty and gradeur of the universe and uncover fascinating
secrets that help us expand our knowledge of space

HOW TELESCOPES ARE
MANUFACTURED
Telescopes are optical instruments that focus light in
such a way that distant object look magnified . Just one
year after discovery of first modern telescopes , Galileo
Galilei managed to create small telescopes that had
30x magnification .
OPTICAL COMPONENTS
The main parts of which any telescopes consists with
are the following:
Primary lens (for refracting telescopes ), which is the main
components odf the device. Bigger the lens , more light a
telescopes acan gather and fainter objects can be viewed.
Primary mirror (for reflecting telescopes), which carries
the same role as the primary lens in a reflecting telescopes .
Eyepiece , which magnifies the image .
Mounting , which supports the tube , enabling it to be
rotated.
REFRACTING TELESCOPE
Refractor is the simplest type of telescopes , which
combine two lenses at the ends of the tube . The main
component of this type of telescope is the primary lens
– the objective . A concave lens is used as an objective
of a refractor . It defines how objects can be viewed .
The eyepiece , another concave lens , is placed at the
other end of the tube .It defines the magnification of
an object observed .

REFLECTING TELESCOPE
This is a later type of telescopes , firstly proposed by
Giovanni Francesco Sagredo (1571-1620) who suggested
that a curved mirror could be used instead of a lens .
The first reflecting prototype was created by Isaac
Newton in 1669 . These telescope employ parabolic
mirror to gather light from distant space sources and
several auxiliary mirror which direct path to the
eyepiece .

LENS PRODUCTION
The glass lenses used in modern day telescopes
are typically made through a process called
“spherical grinding and polishing “. This process
involves the following steps :-
Molding
Grinding
Centering
Fine grinding
Polishing
coating
HOW TELESCOPES WORK
A telescope is a tool that astronomers use to see
faraway objects. Most tlescopes, and all large
telescopes, work byusing curved mirrors to gather
and focus light from the night Sky .The first
telescopes focused light by using pieces of
curved ,clear glass, called lenses. Because mirrors are
lighter, and they are easier than lenses to make
perfectly smooth . The mirrors or lenses in a
telescope are called the “optics.” Really powerful
telescopes can see very dim things and things that are
really far away.

CONCLUSION
Telescopes are more the achievement of eyeglass
makers then the invention of scientists . We can now
see , how important opticians device for the
astronomers . Telescope observations proved that the
earth is not the center of the universe , and that the
solar system consists of several planets and their
satellite . The optics is constantly modified and better
telescopes are being produced for better views .
