or givers of information, and people who
use it are the consumers. These sources
also serve as the means by which people
record information for future consumption.

A unique information from a specific
culture or society.
The transmission of information is
through local channels or forms by which
the culture is preserved, handed down,
and adapted.

TYPES OF MEDIA
3 BASIC TYPES OF MEDIA

• Print Media – is a typed of media used in


mass communication in the form of printed
publications. The traditional form of print
media involves ink and paper.

Books, Newspaper, Magazine, Poster,


Brochure, Press Release
• Broadcast Media – refers to the airborne
transmission of electromagnetic audio signals and
audiovisual signals that are readily accessible to a
wide population via standard receivers.

• The New Media – where ordinary people
can go on their computer screens and with
a few clicks of a mouse button.
