INTRODUCTION TO PLACE OF INTERN

WATER-BEST ENTERPRISES is a borehole drilling company that specializes in


providing water solutions through professional borehole drilling services.

The company offers a wide range of services in the water well industry which includes the following:
 Borehole drilling
 Borehole maintenance and repair
 Pump installation and servicing
 Water system installation
 Consultancy and customer service relations
BOREHOLE DRILLING
Borehole drilling is the process of creating a deep, narrow hole in
the ground to access groundwater stored in the underground
aquifers.
It is a crucial method for providing clean and reliable water sources
for residential, agricultural, and industrial purposes.

The process involves several steps and the use of specialized


equipment such as:
 Drilling rig
 Drill bits
 Drill rod
 Air compressor
 Casing
 Gravel pack
 Well screen
 Pumping machine

STEPS IN BOREHOLE DRILLING

1. The first step is performing a geological survey to identify the aquifers and
determine the depth and location of ground water
2. The next step is the setting up of the drilling rig and other necessary
equipment at the selected site
3. Then the drilling process begins with a small diameter pilot hole. The rig
rotates and through the earth’s layers
4. Once the desired depth is reached, casing is inserted into the borehole.
The casing prevents the walls from collapsing and also prevents the water
from contamination
5. A well screen is installed at the bottom of the borehole where water is
expected to enter the well
6. A seal is created between the casing and the borehole wall
7. An air compressor is used to clean out fine materials and improve water
flow
8. A pumping test is conducted to determine the borehole’s yield and the
sustainability of the water supply
9. Once the borehole is successfully developed, a pumping machine is
installed at the bottom of the well to pump water to the surface.
CONCLUSION
The SIWES program at WATER BEST ENTERPRISES has been a valuable experience, providing a bridge
between theoretical knowledge gained in academic settings and its practical application in the borehole drilling industry.

The experience gained during the SIWES program has not only improved technical skills but has also fostered professional
growth. It has highlighted the need for continuous learning and adaptation in the dynamic field of drilling.

Overall, this SIWES program has been an enriching experience, reinforcing the significance of practical exposure in
supplementing theoretical education. preparing me for future endeavors in this dynamic and ever-evolving field.
