Heavy Rain and Snow

A storm system tracking in the vicinity of the Ohio River brought heavy snow to west central Ohio, and moderate to locally heavy rain across the rest of the area. The system started off before daybreak February 24th with a few thunderstorms. Light to moderate rain then spread into northern Kentucky during the day on the 24th. The rain surged into southeast Indiana and southern/central Ohio during the evening of February 24th. Snow began in west-central Ohio that night, and continued into the morning of February 25th. There was even some thunder and lightning observed with the heavier snow. As the low moved out of the area after daybreak on February 25th, colder air filtered in and the lingering precipitation diminished and changed to all light snow.
