Nomen is not a subclass of Gens
[edit]In any case, it is a subclass of Roman name. A subclass of Gens is Roman family. --Romulanus (talk) 09:49, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
Please provide example
[edit]... of this property (Roman gentilicum) being used properly with the property gens (Q899409). There are several restraint violations, & I am unclear how to resolve them. Thanks. -- Llywrch (talk) 17:01, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
- This property is incorrectly defined. Cornelius (Q29981742), Licinius (Q32979253), Valerius (Q32979453) are examples of Roman nomen gentilicium (P2359); Cornelia gens (Q221312), Licinia gens (Q636900), Valeria gens (Q1429412) are examples of gens (P5025). So:
- and with the example of the documentation:
- See also gens (P5025).
- Un saludo. --Romulanus (talk) 23:48, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
Widening scope of the property

Following this discussion on the WikiProject Ancient Rome, it was agreed to expand the scope of Roman praenomen (P2358), Roman nomen gentilicium (P2359) and Roman cognomen (P2365) to encompass others Ancient peoples of Italy (Q108810) of pre-Roman Italian Peninsula (Q145694), who shared similar naming practice. --Jahl de Vautban (talk) 08:21, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
