Islam (A-lá-peh-gí: الإسلام islām Óa-im: "í-sir-làm"), Hàn-bûn im-e̍k-gí I-su-lân (伊斯蘭), kū-sek hō-miâ Hôe-kàu (回教) ia̍h Hôe-hôe-kàu[1], sī chi̍t-khóan Abraham chong-kàu, mā-sī it-sîn chong-kàu. Islam sī hiān-chhú-sî sè-kài sìn-tô͘ tē-jī-chōe ê chong-kàu, ū 1 kàu 1.8 ek, chú-iàu hun-chòe Sunni (85%) chham Shia (15%) nn̄g-ê phài-pia̍t.

Chiàu Islam thoân-thóng koan-tiám, Muhammad (iok 570 nî – 632 nî) sī chu sian-ti chi hong-ìn (Khatam an-Nabiyyin; siáng bóe chi̍t ūi sian-ti ê ì-sù). Chū 610 nî khai-sí, chiàu hiān-chûn ê siāng chá kì-lio̍k, Muhammad pò-kò ka-tī siū keng-kòe thiⁿ-sài Gabriel thoân--lâi ê Sîn ê khé-sī. Chia ê khé-sī, hō͘ Muhammad chi̍t phài lâng kì-lio̍k chò hō-miâ Quran ê bûn-su.
