Academic advisors in the College of Public Health build relationships with students to achieve academic, career, and personal goals. Advisors empower students through individualized support, guidance, and connection to campus resources. Students are expected to schedule at least one advising appointment with their academic advisor per semester.
Current Public Health students may schedule an appointment with their advisor in MyUK.
The appointment scheduling feature is located on your myUK GPS homepage.
Sign in to myUK.
Under the Student Services tab, select Degree Planning and Registration (myUKGPS).
Select Make Appointment under your advisor’s name.
Select available date and time.
Select your preferred modality.
Click the Confirm Reservation button to complete scheduling the appointment.
Preparing for your Advising Appointment
Complete the pre-advising worksheet before your appointment
Run an Audit on MyUK GPS
Make a list of courses/requirements you are considering taking the following semester
Write down all of your questions
Be prepared to talk about your goals, academic progress, successes you’ve recently had and any problems you might be experiencing in classes

Undergraduate advisors are available for quick questions throughout the week for current UK students majoring in Public Health and for those interested in learning more about the major. Pop-in opportunities are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and are intended for issues that can be addressed in 10 minutes or less. Advising holds are not lifted during pop-in times.
