Dien Vu, MD, is a member of the Congenital Heart team at UK Gill Heart & Vascular Institute. In addition to general anesthesia training, Vu completed a fellowship in the highly specialized field of pediatric cardiac anesthesia at Boston Children’s Hospital. He also has experience in adult cardiac anesthesia.

As a pediatric anesthesiologist, Vu is trained to handle special needs relating to sedation, general anesthesia and pain management in infants and children. As an anesthesiologist for adult cardiac congenital patients, he is skilled in performing perioperative assessment and providing sedation and general anesthesia for these high-risk patients.

Personal Statement

I am here to build a pediatric cardiac program, and I am part of the team. To be successful, it has to be a team approach. We have to have good communication, the ability to work together and the flexibility to adapt to changes. I want to be part of that team, to build that team to serve the kids and the adult congenital patients in this area.
