Nursing Staff Development provides continuing education programming, which is organized, planned and controlled in accordance with the Kentucky Board of Nursing's standards for continuing education.

Instruction and training are designed to meet the learning needs of nurses. Classes focus on the patient population for which nurses are caring. Continuing education credit and a record of training classes attended by each nurse are maintained centrally by the staff development administrative assistant.

Classes are posted on the nursing units and nurses are encouraged to sign up via the UK HealthCare Net Learning program.

Computer-based learning modules are an integral part of ongoing staff education and can be completed by the nurse either in the workplace or at home via the UK HealthCare Net Learning program (password-protected).
