Learn and Connect from Home
ONLINE CLASSES: Our adult education department is now offering classes online to facilitate learning at home. Check out upcoming classes & workshops, professional continuing education, and symposia.
YOUTH & FAMILY ACTIVITIES: Explore the natural world around you with our Youth & Family Self-Guided Adventures. And join us for Virtual Story Time with the Miller Library!
HOME GARDENERS: Visit our blog and social media sites to find out which plants our staff members love to tend in their home gardens, and let us know what you’re up to using the hashtag #UWBGAtHome. You can send your gardening questions to the Miller Library’s Plant Answer Line, follow the Library’s Facebook page for great resources, or take a deep-dive into the Gardening Answers Knowledgebase to explore an abundance of gardening information.
UW FARM ACTIVITIES: Critical staff are operating the UW Farm at a reduced scale this spring, and while doing so, they continue to support UW learning by making videos to demonstrate farming techniques and teach students remotely about sustainable urban agriculture. Check out the videos on YouTube or follow us on Facebook. You can also keep in touch with Instagram.
VIRTUAL MOTHER’S DAY AT THE WASHINGTON PARK ARBORETUM: Mother’s Day weekend, when Azalea Way is in full bloom, has historically been the busiest weekend of the year for visitors in the Arboretum. This year, partners at UW Botanic Gardens, Seattle Parks and Recreation, and the Arboretum Foundation are offering you and your family ways to engage with the Arboretum safely, including a “Slow TV” style tour, virtual backgrounds, Azalea Way trivia, history and plant profiles.
