Collection Box located on the corner of Lloyd House, opens Mondays at 8:10am and closes promptly on Friday at 11:00 am.
COVID-19 Testing Closures:
The collection box will be closed on the following dates:
- January 20th- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- February 17th- President's Day
- March 28th- Cesar Chavez Day
- May 26th- Memorial Day
Free N95 and KN95 masks are available for pickup with a Caltech ID at the bookstore.
Caltech students, faculty, postdocs, and staff members working on campus may participate in a free, voluntary community surveillance testing program, administered by UCLA SwabSEQ. This is a Covid-19 PCR diagnostic test. The program is supported by a California Department of Public Health grant to UCLA and is independent from Caltech.
Student Wellness Services (SWS) facilitates access to the testing kits and provide a collection sample drop-off box on campus. SWS is not involved in registering participants or recording individuals' results or program participation. UCLA SwabSEQ will report aggregate data (total tests and total positive cases) to the Institute.
Step 1:
Pick up an individual, self-collecting saliva test kit. (You may take up to 3 at a time).
Location: Student Wellness Services South: 1239 Arden Road Pasadena, CA 91106 (Just outside the front door).
Hours: Monday to Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm
Step 2:
Follow the instructions located inside the test kit. Make sure to register your sample to receive test results.
(No eating or drinking 30 minutes to collecting your sample).
Step 3:
Deposit your sample at the collection box located on Olive Walk, located on corner of Lloyd House. The box opens on Monday at 8:10am and it closes promptly on Fridays at 11:00am.
Results:
Participants will be notified directly of both negative and positive test results through their preferred communication method, either email or text message, as indicated in their test kit registration. It is recommended that members of the community who test positive report their case to the Institute through the COVID-19 Reporting Application.
**Please allow 24-48 hours for results.
Note: Not recommended to participate if you have tested positive within the last 90 days.
All members of the campus community have access to same-day, symptomatic testing through Student Wellness Services. Students may report symptoms via the COVID-19 Reporting App.
Faculty, staff and students may request an appointment for symptomatic testing by calling (626) 395-6393. While testing capacity may be limited, appointments are available Monday- Friday.
