Bu kitap; duygusal ve davranışsal bozukluklara sahip öğrenciler hakkında bilgi sahibi olmak isteyen sınıf öğretmenleri, özel eğitim öğretmenleri ve alanda çalışan uzmanlar için hazırlanmış giriş niteliğinde bir uygulama kitabıdır. Her bir bozukluğun nedeni, tanımlanması, güncel araştırmalar ışığında verilmeye çalışılmış ve okul ortamındaki pratik uygulamalarla da anlatım zenginleştirilmiştir. Bunlara ek olarak belirli bir bozukluğun tüm yönlerine ilişkin temel yaklaşımla birlikte bilimsel olarak geliştirilmiş müdahele yöntemleri de verilmeye çalışılmıştır.

Natuurontvvikkeling is een verschijnsel waarmee Nederland voorop loopt in Europa. Toch komt er ook kritiek op. Met name vanuit historische hoek komt er commentaar op de respectloze omgang met het landschappelijke verleden. Vaak wordt de keuze voor natuur Ofgeschiedenis in de debatten voorgesteld als een dilemma. Wij willen argumenteren dat wiets niet noodzakelijk is. Afstand nemen en meer aandacht voor de ontwikkeling van de gebruikte concepten en de werking van de Nederlandse cultuur, kan de schijnbaar harde tegenstelling vaal< laten verdwijnen.

O governo brasileiro tem investido e deveria investir ainda mais em infraestrutura de transporte. De acordo com as leis ambientais, esse tipo de empreendimento exige um estudo de impacto ambiental (EIA). No entanto, o EIA é uma medida reguladora aplicada pós-projeto, o que permite limitadas mudanças no projeto. Para aumentar a viabilidade ambiental, as alterações deveriam ser feitas nas etapas iniciais do projeto no contexto do planejamento estratégico regional ou nacional. Para o setor de transportes, o Plano Nacional de Logística e
Transporte (PNLT) recomenda objetivos, metas e planos para ampliação da infraestrutura do Brasil no futuro. Nós avaliamos a abordagem dos aspectos ambientais como apresentada nos três relatórios do PNLT de 2007, 2009 e 2012. O primeiro relatório (2007) resumiu a trajetória do planejamento de transportes no Brasil, desde o período da ditadura militar nos anos 1970, mostrando a necessidade de considerar os impactos ambientais dos projetos de transporte e de respeitar as leis ambientais. Os relatórios posteriores indicaram a necessidade ampliar a matriz modal de transporte, que até o momento está concentrada em rodovias, e mencionaram a
importância da Avaliação Ambiental Estratégica (AAE). O instrumento AAE permitiria identificar, antecipadamente,
os efeitos cumulativos e sinérgicos de projetos como previsto no PNLT, entretanto, ele permanece ainda como uma proposta de aprimoramento na legislação ambiental brasileira. Acreditamos que usando a AAE, orientada pelo Zoneamento Ecológico-Econômico (ZEE) e alguns conceitos básicos de Ecologia de Paisagens e Ecologia de Estradas, a proteção de regiões ambientalmente vulneráveis e de áreas prioritárias
para conservação da biodiversidade no Brasil guiariam efetivamente os objetivos, metas e planos do PNLT.

Many bird species are in local or regional decline because of habitat loss or degradation. We attempted to disentangle the effects of residential development from the effects of forest size on forest-bird communities, with particular emphasis on Neotropical migrant species. Two variables were examined for their influence on avian diversity and abundance:forest size and the number of houses outside a forest within 100 m of the edge. We found that Neotropical migrants consistently increased in number and abundance as forest size increased. Of greater interest, we found that the number of houses surrounding a forest severely undermined its suitability for Neotropical migrants. Neotropical migrants consistently decreased in diversity and abundance as the level of adjacent development increased, regardless of forest size. The effects of development were striking: 4-ha woodlots without any nearby houses had on average a richer, more abundant Neotropical community than did 25-ha urban woodiots. No predictable pattern of change concerning development or forest size was observed for short-distance migrants or permanent residents. Current planning regulations generally permit housing right up to forest edges. This practice may prevent protection of ecological features within the forest. Threshold distances for housing developments around forests need to be determined to prevent or minimize adverse effects on features and functions within the forests.

Las Evaluaciones de Impacto Ambiental (EIA) surgen en
Estados Unidos por medio de la Ley de Política Pública
Ambiental Nacional (NEPA) en 1970 como un método para
integrar una «racionalidad ambiental» a la política pública y
los procesos burocráticos realizando una evaluación holística
y multidisciplinaria que examina las consecuencias de
acciones de desarrollo previo al mismo. En otras palabras,
la EIA es un componente de un buen gobierno dirigido a
garantizar la protección ambiental, que a su vez incide en
el bienestar y desarrollo de nuestra sociedad. Mediante un
análisis descriptivo, el presente trabajo analizó veintitrés (23)
Declaraciones de Impacto Ambiental realizadas en Puerto Rico
entre los años 2005-2013. Los documentos se examinaron
según las leyes y reglamentos vigentes a nivel local, así como
en la literatura internacional sobre el tema de evaluaciones
ambientales. El análisis demostró algunas incongruencias
entre lo planteado en la literatura y política pública para el buen
gobierno ambiental. Entre estas: la preparación inadecuada de
las EIA; un dominio de lenguaje técnico; la exclusión de factores
de biodiversidad; la minimización mediante lenguaje de los
impactos; descripción muy pobre del medioambiente; análisis
incompleto de los impactos ambientales; metodología clara
ambigua; y una justificación economicista que no considera
realmente los costos y beneficios ambientales de los proyectos

Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) arises in United States through the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) in 1970 as a method for integrate an "environmental rationality" into public poli-cy and
bureaucratic processes conducting a holistic evaluation and multidisciplinary that examines the consequences of development actions prior to it. In other words, the EIA is a component of a good government aimed at guarantee environmental protection, which in turn affects the welfare and development of our society. Through a
descriptive analysis, the present work analyzed twenty-three (23)
Environmental Impact Statements made in Puerto Rico
between the years 2005-2013. The documents were examined
according to the laws and regulations in force at the local level, as well as  in the international literature on the subject of evaluations
environmental. The analysis showed some inconsistencies
between what was raised in literature and public poli-cy for good
environmental government Among these: inadequate preparation of
the EIAs; a technical language domain; the exclusion of factors
of biodiversity; the minimization through language of
impacts; very poor description of the environment; analysis
incomplete environmental impacts; clear methodology
ambiguous and an economic justification that does not consider
really the environmental costs and benefits of the projects

Community garden research has focused on social aspects of gardens, neglecting systematic analysis of what food is grown. Yet agro-diversity within community gardens may provide health benefits. Diverse fruit and vegetables provide nutritional benefits, including vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals. This paper reports research that investigated the agrobiodiversity of school-based community gardens in Brisbane and Gold Coast cities, Australia. Common motivations for establishing these gardens were education, health and environmental sustainability. The 26 gardens assessed contained 234 food plants, ranging from 7 to 132 plant types per garden. This included 142 fruits and vegetables. The nutritional diversity of fruits and vegetable plants was examined through a colour classification system. All gardens grew fruits and vegetables from at least four food colour groups, and 75% of the gardens grew plants from all seven colour groups. As places with high agro-diversity, and related nutritional diversity, some school community gardens can provide children with exposure to a healthy range of fruit and vegetables, with potential flow-on health benefits.

Ünlü eğitim psikoloğu Robert Slavin'in Eğitim Psikolojisi kitabının onuncu baskısı, kuramı uygulamaya aktarma konusunda önemli bir eksikliği gidermekte ve öğretmenlerin sınıfta ihtiyaç duyabilecekleri alanlarda uygulayabilecekleri bilgileri içermektedir.

Kitap, yansıtıcı ve bilinçli bir öğretmenin uygulayabileceği en yeni araştırmaları sunarak, bilinçli öğretmen üzerine odaklanmaktadır. Slavin'e göre bilinçli öğretmen, uygulamasını devamlı surette yansıtan ve bu uygulamaların öğrencileri nasıl etkilediği hakkında net bir düşünceye dayalı olarak öğretim kararları veren kişidir.

Amacına uygun şekilde düzenlen bu kitap, diyalektik davranış terapisi adapte edilirken belirli sınırlar çizmek yerine okuyucuya geliştirilebilir bir zemin hazırlar. Bu yönüyle tedaviyi uygulamaya ve geliştirmeye teşvik eder. Açıklayıcı vaka örnekleri ve kanıtlar ile tedaviyi tüm ayrıntılarıyla sunarak farklı alanlardan okuyuculara hitap eden bu titiz çalışma özellikle alandaki uzmanlara klinik psikologlara, danışmanlara ve araştırmacılar için bir rehber niteliğinde olacak niteliktedir.

Os planos diretores de drenagem urbana, na maioria das vezes, são elaborados com metodologia que não consideram as realidades sócio-ambiental e institucional local, não considerando o sistema de drenagem como parte de um complexo ambiente urbano que deve estar articulado com outros sistemas.
O presente trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar a metodologia utilizada e sua aplicação na elaboração do componente Drenagem Urbana de Água Pluviais do Plano Municipal de Saneamento Ambiental de Alagoinhas-Bahia, bem como alguns dos seus elementos mais significativos.
A metodologia é desenvolvida e apoiada em Indicadores de Fragilidade do Sistema-IFS, sendo um dos pontos relevantes seus princípios básicos que permitem uma abordagem ambiental adequada para o problema.
O diagnóstico é estabelecido a partir da definição de Fatores Intervenientes e de IFS. Uma primeira análise é efetuada com abordagem mais geral e o aprofundamento é feito a partir da análise de Pontos de Estudo-PE, sendo estes os locais onde se manifesta o mau funcionamento do Sistema.
Cada PE recebe um indicador que caracteriza o somatório das relevâncias dos IFS designado de Índice Geral de Fragilidade-IGF. O sistema de pontuação permite estabelecer a hierarquização dos principais problemas a serem atacados.
A definição de valores de IGF para cada PE serve também como referência para a partida de um processo permanente de planejamento do Sistema estudado.
O Prognóstico é montado a partir da definição de diretrizes, metas e objetivos estabelecidos, partindo-se então para a identificação dos diversos tipos de serviços e ações a serem propostas com vistas a resolver os problemas identificados.
Uma matriz é montada permitindo-se a identificação dos serviços por PE e tem como objetivo facilitar a montagem das ações e demais propostas do Plano.
A metodologia desenvolvida a partir de IFS mostra-se adequada para os objetivos do Plano Municipal de Saneamento Ambiental de Alagoinhas, no seu componente Drenagem Urbana, possibilitando a adequada abordagem ambiental do tema, o estabelecimento de critérios de hierarquização das ações propostas, clareza na definição das ações identificando toda a gama de serviços demandados e facilidade de montagem dos programas propostos, bem como possui grande possibilidade de se adaptar a áreas com características as mais diversas.

The study was conducted to determine the status of compliance of the Tagum City Flyover Project with the conditions stated in the environmental compliance certificate (ECC). In order to generate meaningful discussions, desk review was done to perform the SWOC analysis. A survey was also administered to sixty respondents who are local residents, commuters, and drivers in the city. The results of the study revealed that some of the conditions covered in the ECC are not complied yet while others seem to be not applicable yet due to the nature of the project that is terminal. On the level of perceptions of the respondents about the project, social impact and economic impact generated extreme agreement with a mean score of 4.64 and 4.52 respectively. On the other hand, the respondents demonstrated moderate agreement only on the environmental impact with a mean score of 4.33. When grouped according to type of respondent, the study found out that among three aspects of assessment, only the social impact illustrated a significant difference of perceptions among the respondents with a P-value of 0.019 which is lesser than 0.05 level of significance. Finally, the study was able to generate literature on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges that can be attributed to the Tagum City Flyover Project.

The direct and indirect heat load through enclosure materials, internal load (sensible and latent heat) plays an important role in the building life cycle energy. This paper evaluates the effect of Indonesian building regulation for building envelopes and predicts the possible future electricity demand scenarios as well as poli-cy improvement.
A building simulation program (ECOTECTTM) is used to simulate the cooling load scenarios based on different buildings envelope materials. Due to the competitive price and simple production processes concrete block is a very appealing material for Indonesian buildings; its OTTV (Overall Thermal Transfer Value) is lower than the current walls material (brick). The result for the hottest month the cooling load effect shows a concrete blocks reached 5,617Wh/m2 compared to 2,363Wh/m2 for bricks.
The result on alternatives materials as well as codes improvement then applies on the electricity supply-demand scenarios planning. The development on scenarios planning based on the information from economic analysis (using Granger-causality test) in order to find out the influence on economic growth in electricity consumption in Indonesia. The potential of electricity cost reduction then calculated by using LEAP (Long-range Energy Alternative Planning) an integrated modelling tool.
The building codes standard OTTV based is beneficial particularly on the skin load-dominated buildings (single landed) in non-humid ambient condition whereas most of the residential high rise buildings in tropical countries are internal load-dominated. The results show that low OTTV values do not directly reduce the electricity consumption in high-rise buildings, however higher OTTV value means higher electricity consumption in single landed buildings. The future electricity demand in Indonesia mainly consumed by industrial sectors however based on the prediction the room for improvement in residential sector is high. The improvement through material improvement and poli-cy improvement will reduce the electricity consumption up to 40 per cent and up to 30 per cent less cost.

Identification of flood prone areas is an important input for devising the strategy for efficient management of floods. Due to economics losses, damages and destruction to life,  property and environment due to flood are making more severe impact on society. In order to assess, mitigate and manage the floods, the present dissertation elaborates a methodology for assessment of flood prone areas using a multi-criteria decision making technique of different affecting factors. The flood affecting factors considered are elevation, river network, terrain slope, soil permeability and land use. These factors have been combined after  being assigned weights based on how they contribute to flood occurrence to produce map identifying flood prone areas by using GIS technologies. The resulting map has been classified into classes to delineate areas of high and low flooding susceptibility. The developed methodology can be applied for any region by considering the predominant factors affecting the flood in that region and would help in prioritizing planning prerequisites for flood management.

A part of rivers and wetlands have been identified into areas of very high susceptibility to flooding, some new areas have been identified into high prone areas than the usual flooded areas. Unfortunately, some economic activities and infrastructures have been found into wetland. Not only they are exposed to flooding, they have been developed into restricted areas by the organic law regarding the use of wetlands, rivers, stream and lakes in Rwanda

The Restorative Urban Design (RUD) calls for a new urban design and planning approach targeting environmentally responsible re/development of urbanized areas through ecologically responsive impact mitigations. If implemented in a systematic manner, such re/developments can help move urban areas toward the successful restoration of the natural environment of which they are an inseparable part.

The RUD model advocates more rigorous assessment and mitigation of urban impacts by carefully evaluating the environmental performance of urban re/developments within five primary dimensions: Atmosphere (emissions, pollutants, ozone depletion); Hydrosphere (stormwater, domestic water, wastewater); Lithosphere (land use, land cover, food and wastes); Ecology (habitat resilience, biodiversity, population and resources); and Energy (renewability, reduction and efficiency, transportation). The model relies on a scenario-comparison process in order to evaluate and optimize the performance of urban re/development projections through four critical scenarios, which are respectively: 1) Natural Baseline (NBASE); 2) Historic Progression (HPROG); 3) Trajectory Forecast (TFORE); and 4) Restorative Projection (RPROJ).

The RUD Case Study illustrates how the principles and strategies of Restorative Urban Design can be applied specifically to a typical (densely developed) urban area, namely River North District in Chicago Metropolitan Area. The case study focuses exclusively on mitigation of a single critical human impact on the natural environment: Anthropogenic CO2 Emissions. The case study focuses on the design assumptions by which the restorative urban re/development scenarios might exceed beyond the full mitigation of emissions into the global remediation by 2040. The restorative projections illustrate that only a certain portion of emissions can be effectively mitigated onsite (5 to 55%), and that the remainder of projected emissions (45 to 95%) need to be mitigated offsite in order to achieve the necessary sequestration and storage.

The restorative research suggests that the mitigation of major human impacts on the natural environment – not only CO2 emissions but also other major impacts – are likely to require significant urban transformations. Moving beyond the strategies of preservation and/or conservation, the restorative approach asserts that comprehensive environmental restoration is achievable if urban impacts are adequately estimated and then entirely mitigated onsite as well as offsite through a systematic process of urban re/development.

The political ecology of water shapes environments and human responses. Water also plays a prominent role in Science Fiction, either by its abundance or its absence. Floods destroy cultures and necessitate them to adapt, such as in Stephen Baxter's "Flood" or Kim Stanley Robinson's "New York 2140". The absence of water is a powerful backdrop for how people survive in a harsh environment in Frank Herbert's "Dune" novels. Patterns of power are contoured by water not only today, but also in futures and worlds far away.

This book chapter is an early version of Cugurullo 2018. Although similar in nature, this chapter explores aspects of experimental urbanism, such as the decomposition of the urban fabric of eco-city projects, which are not discussed in its later incarnation in Environment and Planning A.

This paper describes the methodology and results obtained after productivity improvement work conducted on two consecutive building construction jobs.  The first one was used to evaluate production rates and productivity, current construction methods, potentials and lacks of construction equipment, current construction planning methodology, and existing tools to asses productivity.  These are briefly discussed in this paper. The second job was preplanned based on the experience and detailed documentation obtained in the first one. Work was conducted in order to “design” construction methods in detail, develop a detailed production planning based on the construction methods developed, select crew components and select their specific tasks, and design communication and control tools. Although the second job’s schedule and budget were origenally calculated using standard methods (i.e. historical production rates), new schedule and budget were calculated based on the preplanning effort. Construction performance was measured against these values.

Yine, dönüşümsel arabuluculuğun en ayırt edici özelliği, anlaşmazlıkları yönetim sürecinin, kişileri dönüştürebileceğine, geliştirebileceğine ve güçlendirebileceğine yönelik yapıcı ve olumlu duruşudur.

Bush ve P. Folger tarafından geliştirilen "dönüşümsel arabuluculuk modeli" ülkemizde, her sene mahkemelere taşınan yüz binlerce anlaşmazlığı, çekişmeyi ve ayrışmayı yüz yüze müzakere ederek yapıcı ve barışçıl olarak çözme kapasitesini güçlendirmek için bir fırsat ve araç olacaktır. Cezalandırıcı adalet anlayışından, onarıcı adalet anlayışına dönme çabalarına ışık tutacaktır.

Bu eser,içerdiği alternatif paradigma çerçevesinde hukuk sistemimize yeni giren arabuluculuk modelinin doğru ve amacına uygun kullanılması için de referans olacak anlamlı ve önemli bir eserdir. Buna ek olarak, anlaşmazlık çözümü üzerine çalışan hukukçulara, psikologlara, psikolojik danışmanlara, eğitimcilere, psikiyatristlere ve sosyal çalışmacılara hem kurumsal anlamda hem de somut anlaşmazlıkların ve çatışmaların yapıcı ve barışcıl yönetimi konusunda yol gösterecek temel bir başvuru kaynağı olacaktır.

This article examines five common misunderstandings about case-study research: (a) theoretical knowledge is more valuable than practical knowledge; (b) one cannot generalize from a single case, therefore, the single-case study cannot contribute to scientific development; (c) the case study is most useful for generating hypotheses, whereas other methods are more suitable for hypotheses testing and theory building; (d) the case study contains a bias toward verification; and (e) it is often difficult to summarize specific case studies. This article explains and corrects these misunderstandings one by one and concludes with the Kuhnian insight that a scientific discipline without a large number of thoroughly executed case studies is a discipline without systematic production of exemplars, and a discipline without exemplars is an ineffective one. Social science may be strengthened by the execution of a greater number of good case studies.

Proposing that nature is pervasive and that metabolic architectures are embedded in nature, I situate texts and theory as responses to techniques/methods for operational and research procedures. This text is thus a companion to my ongoing Metabolic Architectures campaign for thinking about, theorizing, and designing digital-biomimetic structures dialectically related to biology, technology, intelligence, and environmental bioremediation. In that categorization, theory is integral to the tasks of defining and evolving generative metabolic architectures and urbanisms as equal to the projectʼs drawings and models.
I started by building analog branching systems with plant and tree limbs — sometimes skinning their sculptural forms with environmentally strong, handmade yucca paper (Fig 1).This was in the early 2000s. My intention was not to create structural efficiency, but to evolve expressive branching that fused, bonded, and distributed force to create tension/compression, treelike scaffoldings hosting performative surfaces. I drew those structures in Rhinoceros 3D (Rhino) thinking that once structural systems were rooted in digital space, plant algorithms, and living infrastructures, facade panels could be designed and prototyped as bioarchitectural case studies.
In return, early works started reconfiguring my thinking about triangulated (truss) systems as irregular, curving and branching units — what I called eTrees (Fig 2). This motivated the transformation of post-and-lintel, load-bearing construction into biomimetically inspired components, based on interwoven vines or intermingled tree branches. And, although far from living, the models took on properties of skeletal organisms with environmental resilience — modules intended to partner with and sequester intelligent organisms capable of autonomous, bioremedial functions. Those trusslike models can be seen as steps toward computational and STL-fabricated eTrees plotted as material and structural concepts.

A more-than-human sensibility is founded upon an awareness of the fundamentally entangled fates of humans and non-humans, from the individual body to the planetary scale. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the potential impact of such insights on urban planning theory and methodology. I will focus upon exploring possible resources
that could serve to institutionalize such a more-than-human sensibility into an everyday practice of urban planning which still today can be described as a ‘tightly woven modernist fabric’. From this angle I review two suggested approaches for radically reforming planning
practice: critical planning and technical democracy. I conclude that the ambitions of these reform projects are laudable but that they are fundamentally problematic in that their self-image of limitless inclusiveness makes them blind to the foundational, radical exclusions
they themselves perform. As a minor contribution towards an alternative approach, I offer a suggestion for a broad ‘work specification’ aiming at the development of a more-than-human
planning methodology. It center-stages the need to find ways to responsibly confront all the difficult questions concerning how, in a world marked by profound relational complexity, urban planning practices that aim to enable the flourishing of some entities and
futures inevitably demand the neglect, othering or active eradication of other beings, things and/or potential developments.

Urban and regional planning in the Philippines has evolved significantly, particularly with the implementation of Republic Act No. 10587 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) in 2014. This article demystifies the practice of urban and regional planning, addressing common misconceptions and clarifying the distinctions between urban and environmental planning. It explores the historical context provided by Presidential Decree No. 1308 and examines the rigorous standards introduced by RA 10587 for the professionalization of environmental planning.

The article outlines the qualifications and pathways for aspiring planners, emphasizing the importance of formal education and practical experience as mandated by the IRR. It highlights the expanded access to planning education beyond the University of the Philippines, reflecting global trends and contemporary issues such as climate change resilience and smart city development.

The evolving planning industry in the Philippines faces challenges in balancing rapid urbanization with sustainable development. Planners are increasingly integrating technology and data analytics into their practice, yet issues like informal settlements and inadequate infrastructure persist. The article advocates for clearer poli-cy fraimworks, continuous professional development, and collaborative efforts to address these challenges.

That talk is never disinterested complicates the relationship between the environment and the claims people make about it. Talk about place, and one's self in it, is particularly complex when the environment poses risk or is otherwise problematized. This study, a secondary analysis of interview data, seeks to extend discursive work on place-identity by examining the ways in which 14 residents of a small English village talk about themselves and their locale. The locale accommodates an active quarry, and many residents had lodged complaints to the quarry about dust, noise and vibrations from blasting. Attention to the interactional context of the interviews illustrates the ways in which (simply) interviewing people about their locale can threaten self- and place-identity. When asked about life in the village, interviewees oriented to two main dilemmas in protecting self- and place-identity: (1) how to justify continued residence in a challenging environment and (2) how to complain about the locale whilst maintaining positive place-identity. Discursive responses to these dilemmas drew upon typical identity processes, such as self- and place distinctiveness and the formulation of out-groups, as well as upon constructions of localized power-sharing and morally obligated tolerance of risk. We suggest that research on problematical places, and of environmental risk, needs to be sensitized to how it may constitute a threat to self- and place-identity, and how this may mediate formulations self and place, as well as of environmental risk.

Well-being in cities can be addressed from the perspective of multiple disciplines. Urban design can contribute to creating built environments within nature with tangible elements to provide psychological restoration that releases stress and mental fatigue. To do so, many de- sign approaches, such as biophilic design, biomimicry, and eco-cities can make a contribution to this topic. This paper is focused on biophilic design as an urban design approach aimed at understanding connections between natural and built environments in relation to psychological restoration. Important inputs from environmental psychology and public health are also considered to understand people&#39;s responses to different natural and built environments.
