Onderwijs is een belangrijk goed voor de samenleving. De grote aandacht voor (het belang van) onderwijs in Nederland is een van de factoren waardoor de ideeën over het opleiden op school door de jaren heen nogal eens veranderen. Een belangrijke verschuiving die al enige tijd aan de hand is in het denken over onderwijs, is die van ‘denken vanuit een ideaal’ naar het ‘denken richting een doel dat moet worden behaald’. Deze verschuiving zorgt voor een andere kijk op onderwijs. Zo kan het dat de school van tegenwoordig het instituut is dat als middel dient tot het behalen van de door de van buitenaf opgelegde doelstelling: Het zo vaardig mogelijk maken van goede, economisch bruikbare burgers . Het doel is het middel geworden en daardoor is een grondidee voor onderwijs vaak diffuus geworden. Het lijkt erop dat enkel het te behalen doel als voorwaarde wordt aangenomen en dat er niet meer wordt nagedacht over waarom we aan onderwijs doen. In deze these wil ik voor deze vraag een kader schetsen. Ik wil laten zien dat er voldoende goede redenen zijn om weer op zoek te gaan naar een grondidee voor onderwijs, een ideaal waarop ons onderwijs gebaseerd wordt. Een ideaal waar Bildung een plaats heeft omdat het waarde toevoegt.

Ik heb willen laten zien dat er een verschil bestaat en kan blijven bestaan tussen de voorbereiding op Bildung en Bildung zelf. Scholen kunnen steeds voorbereidend op Bildung werken door kinderen meer te leren kijken naar zichzelf, door hen opdrachten te geven die hen uitdagen op zoek te gaan naar eigen antwoorden, maar hen daarbij wel te begeleiden. De leraar is er om kennis en inzichten toe te voegen waar mogelijk. Leraren moeten ruimte kunnen nemen voor een ontwikkeling van een kind dat niet steeds meetbaar moet zijn, juist omdat het proces van geestelijke ontwikkeling en subject-wording in samenhang met elkaar niet meetbaar is. Het meten hiervan levert een schijnzekerheid op. Bovendien wordt, met het meetbaar maken van subjectwording, de verantwoordelijkheid weer bij de leraar gelegd en zal het kind niet zelf aan ontwikkeling doen. De gehele schooltijd zou een plaats moeten hebben voor de voorbereiding op Bildung. Een ieder die dat later wenst kan dan nog kiezen voor werkelijke Bildung uit eigen beweging.

De stelling dat ons denken beperkt is, wordt door de Duitse filosoof Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) als volgt onderbouwd. 'Op sommige essentiele levensvragen kunnen wij niet een afdoende antwoord vinden, omdat we daarbij stuiten op de grenzen van ons kenvermogen' aldus Kant.

Onze huidige cultuur, met name de alomtegenwoordige beeldcultuur, lijkt meer dan ooit aan verstilling toe. We leven meer dan ooit in een constante toevloed, een total flow van beelden en geluiden, waarin nauwelijks nog plaats is voor verstilling. We worden overspoeld door een ware beeldenstorm, die ons tijd noch ruimte laat om het beeld tot ons te laten doordringen. Op televisie bijvoorbeeld laat de snelheid van het beeld zelfs geen ruimte meer voor het ogenblik: het ene beeld kondigt permanent het volgende beeld aan, het beeld zelf, de oogopslag, vervluchtigt en lost op als damp in de ether. Als er al van enige dichtheid of densiteit sprake is, dan is het de kijkdichtheid, de dictatuur van de kijkdichtheid, die steeds opnieuw op de consumptie van het beeld is gefixeerd, deze aanzwengelt, maar tegelijk elke verdieping van of in het beeld onmogelijk maakt.

Meneer de Rector Magnificus, beste collega's en studenten, familie en vrienden, Mensen hebben, overal ter wereld en door de geschiedenis heen, risico's genomen en offers gebracht om sociale onrechtvaardigheden aan te kaak te stellen en te bestrijden. Aan het begin van de 20 e eeuw zijn de arbeidsomstandigheden van fabrieksarbeiders in Europa pas verbeterd nadat sociaal activisten aangekaart hadden hoe onrechtvaardig en onmenselijk die arbeidsomstandigheden waren. Ook het vrouwenkiesrecht is niet zomaar vanzelf uit de lucht komen vallen; daartoe hebben feministen heel wat argumenten op tafel moeten leggen, en de machthebbers moeten overtuigen van hun gelijk. De geschiedenis is doorspekt van strijd die mensen gevoerd hebben om onrechtvaardigheden ongedaan te maken. Ook op institutioneel vlak is rechtvaardigheid een belangrijke waarde. De Nederlandse rechtstaat beoogt een rechtvaardige maatschappij te zijn. Alle politieke partijen beweren rechtvaardigheid belangrijk te vinden, ook al geven zij wel heel verschillende invullingen aan dit begrip. Een belangrijk criterium voor overheidsbeleid is daarom dat het rechtvaardig is, ook al moet dit soms afgewogen worden tegen andere waarden. Maar ondanks dit direct maatschappelijke belang van sociale rechtvaardigheid, heeft binnen de analytische politieke filosofie de rechtvaardigheidsliteratuur zich de laatste 40 jaar vooral gericht op meer abstracte analyses van hoe de perfect rechtvaardige samenleving er uit zou moeten zien. Deze filosofie is niet altijd even toepasbaar geweest op concrete sociale onrechtvaardigheden, vooral niet voor minder zichtbare vormen daarvan.

Over de context van de stoornis en de stoornis van de context Bert van den Bergh 'Herstel' wordt in onze samenleving veelal gezien als terugkeer naar een staat die verlaten werd door het optreden van een stoornis of ziekte: de 'normale' of 'gezonde' staat. De beoordeling inhoeverre van zo'n terugkeer sprake is, hangt mede af van vooronderstellingen die men heeft over de grondtrekken van ziekte en gezondheid, pathologie en normaliteit. Die aannames blijven doorgaans impliciet. Desondanks zijn ze sturend. Wie zich bezighoudt met herstel en rehabilitatie ontkomt er niet aan te gelegener tijd impliciete aannames expliciet te maken. Zo'n explicitatie is zeker aan de orde als het vermoeden bestaat dat die grondgedachten problematisch zijn. Volgens een groeiend aantal filosofen, wetenschappers en hulpverleners is dat momenteel het geval. De huidige culturele context zou steeds sterker ontwrichtende trekken beginnen te vertonen. De normativiteit die binnen deze context domineert en die bestemt wat 'normaal' en 'gezond' heet, ligt vanuit diverse hoeken onder vuur.

Demythologisering en existentialistische interpretatie van het Nieuwe Testament De relevantie van de theologie van Rudolf Bultmann voor vandaag door Marcel van der Bolt-Rudolf Bultmann (1884-1976) was een van de meest invloedrijke nieuwtestamentici van de twintigste eeuw. Zijn hermeneutiek van het Nieuwe Testament is van grote betekenis geweest voor de systematische theologie. Bultmann is met name bekend geworden om zijn theorie van demythologisering. Hiermee wilde hij het evangelie toegankelijk maken voor de moderne mens en een antwoord geven op de vraag naar de zin van de menselijke existentie. Voor Bultmann betekende dit afscheid nemen van de historiciteit van eeuwenoude waarheden. Is zijn theologie daarom per definitie irrelevant voor diegene die daar juist grote waarde aan hechten? Of moeten we dieper kijken en brengt zijn theologie ook inzichten naar voren die ons beeld van het evangelie juist zouden kunnen verruimen?

In deze bachelorscriptie onderzoek ik de centrale plaats die de mens inneemt in Marx’ filosofie. Ik
vertrek daarvoor bij een zuiver filosofische bespreking van de marxiaanse epistemologie, waarna ik
de beweging maak naar haar revolutionaire en bevrijdende betekenis. Marx werkte in een tijd waarin
de subject-object-verhouding een centraal discussiepunt was in de Duitse filosofie. Zijn eigen
materialistisch uitgangpunt brengt hij tot uitdrukking met de slagzin: “Niet het bewustzijn bepaalt
het leven, maar het leven bepaalt het bewustzijn.” Zijn kritiek richt zich in eerste instantie op de
idealistische filosofie die primair de ideeën als werkende kracht in de geschiedenis aanduidt.
Terzelfdertijd hoedt Marx zich ook voor een naïef realisme en een mechanistische
weerspiegelingstheorie. Vanuit het idealisme neemt Marx de activiteit van het subject over. De
erkenning van deze activiteit vormt zijn fundamentele kritiek op Feuerbachs contemplatieve
materialisme. Marx’ primaire epistemologische categorie is dus samengevat niet de geest of het
passieve subject, maar de reële, actieve mens. Marx bevindt zich zodoende in een spreidstand tussen
invloeden uit zowel het idealisme als het klassieke materialisme. Ik bespreek Marx’ origenele
oplossing van het epistemologisch vraagstuk vanuit zijn praxis-begrip. Dit laat mij toe in te gaan op de
dialectiek die, aldus Marx, vervat ligt in het menselijke handelen. Namelijk: in het transformeren van
de werkelijkheid tot een humane werkelijkheid, vormt de mens zijn bewustzijn, d.i. in zijn praxis. De
werkelijkheid zoals die de mens in het kapitalisme verschijnt, herkent hij echter niet als de
uitdrukking van zijn eigen wezenskrachten. Zodoende vervreemdt de mens zich in het praktisch-
maatschappelijk leven van deze werkelijkheid, én van zichzelf. Niet enkel de natuur is voorwerp van
uitbuitende objectivering, ook de mens wordt gereduceerd tot een functionele waar in het
productieproces: hij is slechts een fragment van zichzelf. In deze tragiek verschijnt de ideologie op
het podium. Zij toont zich als een systematisch geheel van ideeën die de mens zijn miserabel lot
verklaren. Zodoende vervult zij een dubbele functie: enerzijds als noodzakelijk soelaas, anderzijds als
machtsmiddel om de stabiliteit en de status quo in de samenleving te bewaren. Geheel in de lijn van
zijn epistemologie verklaart Marx de ideologische schijnwerkelijkheid uit de verscheurde sociale
werkelijkheid. Dat brengt hem ertoe te stellen dat niet in het denken, maar in de concrete
werkelijkheid de theorie haar oplossing vindt. Ideologiekritiek wordt dus praktische kritiek op het
kapitalisme, die haar uiting vindt in de revolutionaire praxis, waarin de mens de gehele sociale
werkelijkheid waarvan hijzelf deel uitmaakt bewust tot object van zijn activiteit maakt. Marx ziet hoe
het kapitalisme in zijn ontwikkeling zélf de krachten voortbrengt die zijn opheffing zullen betekenen:
het proletariaat. Het is precies in het dialectisch proces van vervreemding dat de proletariër zijn
notie van menselijkheid herwint, aldus Marx. De ideologische schijn verliest bijgevolg zijn
verbloemende kracht en de werkelijkheid verschijnt als het product van het menselijk handelen, d.i.
veranderlijk. In deze context bespreek ik de spanning tussen vrijheid en bepaaldheid. Marx’ historisch
materialisme speelt hierin een sleutelrol: in de historische dialectiek waarin de mens tot een
vervreemde ‘waar’ gereduceerd wordt, wint hij het noodzakelijke bewustzijn voor zijn bevrijding.
Deze uiteenzetting sluit ik af met een beschouwing over het onderliggende mensbeeld van Marx.
Daar de mens een scheppend wezen is, dient de samenleving de uitdrukking van zijn eigen
Wesenskräfte te zijn. De verwerkelijking van de menselijk natuur zal plaatsvinden in een praktische
beweging die zich de vervreemde werkelijkheid toe-eigent en een vorm van samenleven voortbrengt
die de uitdrukking van de wezenlijk vrije menselijke praxis is: het communisme.

The Theses LVI belong to a series of hitherto unpublished early manuscripts of the Dutch humanist and jurisconsult Hugo Grotius (1583-1645) that were acquired by the University of Leiden in 1864. It is not certain when the Theses were written, but preliminary research on the physical manuscript and the sources cited indicate two possible windows. The first is around 1602-1605, that is roughly at a time when Grotius was also working on his Commentary on the Law of Prize and Booty (De Iure Praedae Commentarius). The Theses LVI also feature important reading notes that yield priceless insights into the sources that Grotius directly consulted and their influence on his ideas. The manuscript grants modern scholars a unique glimpse into the working mind of its author. Evidence points not only to the ferocious haste with which Grotius wrote his works, but also the occasional sloppiness of his reading and research habits."""

Conferința își propune să reunească specialiști (inclusiv doctoranzi) din țară și din străinătate din aceste discipline, precum și din cele înrudite precum Istoria artei, Studii vizuale, Sociologia artelor, Politici culturale și management cultural etc., care doresc să participe la dezbaterea interdisciplinară a unor probleme actuale ale artelor și disciplinelor care le abordează în calitate de fenomene sau practici culturale.
Se acceptă lucrări din toate tradiţiile esteticii filosofice și ale teoriilor artelor, cu accent pe artele vizuale, cinema, muzică și artele performative. Atât prezentările sistematice cât şi cele istorice sunt binevenite.
Prezentările vor fi in limba română, cu excepţia invitaţilor din străinătate sau în alte cazuri motivate.
Fiecare lucrare va avea alocate aproximativ 30 min. pentru prezentare şi 10 min. pentru discuţii. Lucrările acceptate vor fi eligibile pentru publicare în reviste de specialitate indexate în baze de date internaționale (în limbile engleză sau franceză) sau în volume colective publicate în edituri acreditate CNCS (în lb. română).

In 1885 the first novel of the philosopher and writer Lou Andreas-Salomé appears: Im Kampf um Gott. One year later a Dutch translation appears under the title In den strijd om God. Not only does she write about her struggle, the way she wrestles herself free from her belief in the invisible God, but she also writes about what this does to her view of the world. She develops a “real life attitude” which she addresses in her poem ‘Lebensgebet’. With the novel In den strijd om God [The struggle for God] and Salomé’s memoirs Terugblik op mijn leven [Looking Back] I will elaborate on the question about the way Salomé looks at the concepts ‘the death of God’ and ‘remaining faithful to the earth’.

ABSTRACT: Minimalists about truth contend that traditional inflationary theories systematically fail to explain certain facts about truth, and that this failure licenses a 'reversal of explanatory direction'. Once reversed, they purport that their own minimal theory adequately explains all of the facts involving truth. But minimalists' main objection to inflationism seems to misfire, and the subsequent reversal of explanatory direction, if it can be made sense of, leaves minimalism in no better explanatory position; and even if the objection were serviceable and the reversal legitimate, minimalists' adequacy thesis is still implausible.

Agora a reprezentat de la începuturi un loc public şi centrul activitǎţilor civice în Atena anticǎ. Acesta era locul unde cetǎţenii luau deciziile, unde se ţineau discuţiile şi unde aveau loc schimbǎrile. Agora a fost inima societǎţii ateniene, o societate bazatǎ mai mult pe comunitate şi pe colectiv decât pe individ . Era locul unde se dezbăteau idei, unde filosofii (și nu doar ei) antici îți expuneau teoriile, își găseau discipolii și contribuiau la dezvoltarea cetății. A urmat o perioadă când pulsul societății era oferit de instituțiile de învățământ, când educația academică era percepută ca „o funcție vitală a societății, deoarece prin aceasta societatea îşi perpetuează existenţa, transmiţând din generaţie în generaţie tot ceea ce umanitatea a învăţat despre ea însăşi şi despre realitate”.  La vremea respectivă Filosofia a intrat în Agora Academică, iar în respectivul spațiu și-a găsit rostul și menirea secole de-a rândul. Dar societateatea a evoluat! În momentul de față, inima societății este internetul. WEB-ul este cel care pare să dirijeze mersul societății în acest secol, iar digitalizarea a devenit a doua natură a omului contemporan.  În acest context, filosofiei îi este deschis drumul către Agora Virtuală, locul unde aceasta poate cunoaște din nou măreția trecutului sau se poate pierde cu desăvârșire, rămânând un simplu termen într-un dicționar virtual al expresiilor pierdute. ”

Aceeaşi argumentare va arăta că (b) şi (c) eşuează, dacă expresia "este întemeiat să creadă că" este înlocuită pretutindeni prin "âre temeiuri adecvate pentru" sau "are dreptul de a fi sigur că" .

În ultimul timp, alături de filosofie, o varietate de discipline socio-umane -de la sociologia artei şi studiile organizaţionale la analiza politicilor culturale şi managementul cultural - acordă atenţie esteticului, văzut ca o caracteristică a contextelor sociale cotidiene şi a vieţii organizaţionale. Multe demersuri au rămas, totuși, sub dominaţia paradigmelor pozitiviste şi funcţionaliste. Acest capitol examinează problema vieţii cotidiene în cadrul organizaţiilor bazându-se pe abordări recente care susţin, în schimb, o cercetare prin prisma principiilor estetice, dând chiar naștere unei noi sub-discipline numite „Estetica Organizaţiilor” sau „Estetica Organizaţională” (în continuare, abreviată EO). În prima parte, voi analiza principiile teoretice şi metodologice ale cercetării estetice a vieţii cotidiene în organizaţii punând accentul pe versiunea „tare” a EO, care reformulează ontologia organizaţiilor pe baza unor noi principii cu privire la natura acestora şi a experienţelor organizaţionale cotidiene. În a doua parte, voi ilustra noua abordare estetică a vieţii cotidiene în organizaţii prin două studii de caz, referitoare la modul în care esteticul mediază acţiunea şi performanţa organizaţională (Witkin 2009a, b), şi la beneficiile sau dificultăţile „strategiei artificării” în organizaţii (Saito 2012). Concluzia este aceea că abordarea organizaţiilor prin prisma principiilor şi conceptelor esteticii filosofice oferă noi moduri de analiză capabile să răspundă mai bine provocărilor teoretice şi practice actuale, atât din cercetarea organizaţională, cât şi din domeniile cultural, economic şi politic.

In this paper I discuss the Marxist critique to the theory of justice of John Rawls. The starting point of this criticism is the rawlsian innovative concept - "the difference principle", which justifies inequalities in marxist vision of society. With reference to Miller`s critique, I will try to highlight its structure, arguementative line, coherence and inaccuracies. The question is wheter Marxist criticism can be opposed to the founding pillars of Rawls` theory of justice.

The paper investigates the relation between two of Kant's works written between the two editions of the Critique of Pure Reason: the Prolegomena and the Metaphysical Foundations of Natural Science. It is argued that the project of the Foundations consists in a specification of the concept of pure natural science that Kant developed in the Prolegomena. This specification takes place through the integration of the a priori impure elements of matter and motion. The Foundations belongs to what Kant calls "the system of transcendental philosophy" and that is why the first Critique, the Prolegomena and the Foundations, although operating on different levels of abstraction, share a common structure.

This paper focuses on one of the major criticisms made to Aristotle's virtue ethics, namely that it lacks explicit moral action guidance. The same criticism has been addressed to later developments of virtue ethics. There have been several attempts to overcome this objection and to demonstrate that modern theories of virtue ethics do provide principles of right action. In this paper, I discuss mainly two such major attempts: the exemplarist approach and the virtue rules approach. My aim is to examine whether, if applied to Aristotle’s virtue ethics, these two approaches can provide a convincing answer to the criticism that Aristotle’s ethics does not offer explicit moral action guidance .

En esta obra el autor expone con maestría los conceptos esenciales de la
historia de la filosofía occidental de un modo claro, preciso y sucinto. Por
tratarse de un manual breve, ofrece la ventaja del bosquejo rápido en el que los rasgos esenciales y el sentido del conjunto quedan vigorosamente destacados, prescindiendo de la multiplicidad de pormenores que pudieran aportar confusión. La finalidad que aquí persigue Hirschberger es sobre todo iniciar al lector en el espíritu de la filosofía, ofreciendo una clara visión del proceso histórico que ha conducido al planteamiento de los problemas filosóficos y ha provocado la meditación sobre ellos. Por eso, la obra no se orienta a la simple exposición de las ideas filosóficas, sino que además invita a repensar críticamente los grandes problemas y doctrinas de la filosofía. Es toda una aventura, la de intentar exponer en un breve manual la historia de la
filosofía. Pero como el espíritu humano es capaz de abarcar en una ojeada el más extenso y complejo panorama —lo cual es a la vez un privilegio y una necesidad—, vamos a intentarlo también aquí. En nuestro caso el intento ofrece una ventaja especial: en un bosquejo rápido los rasgos esenciales y el sentido del conjunto quedan más vigorosamente destacados que cuando uno se pierde en la multiplicidad de los
pormenores. Una exposición tan sucinta no pretende sino servir de iniciación en el espíritu de la filosofía total. A quien desee penetrar en los detalles, cosa que a menudo resulta necesario, nos permitimos señalar nuestra Historia de la filosofía en dos tomos, cuya nueva edición revisada y ampliada ya está disponible.

Tema pe care doresc să o abordez în acest eseu filosofic este pedeapsa cu moartea. Chiar dacă în România se poate discuta despre aceasta doar la nivel teoretic, deoarece s-a semnat un tratat în acord cu Uniunea Europeană ce prevede eliminarea aplicării pedepsei capitale, consider că este un subiect destul de delicat ce merită dezbătut.

Resumen

Schopenhauer, pese a la reticencia de Freud en reconocer estos “prestamos inconfesables”, se anticipó a Freud en medio siglo. En Schopenhauer aparece por vez primera una filosofía explícita del inconsciente y del cuerpo. Schopenhauer procede de los “años salvajes de la filosofía”, pese a su  enemistad con el Romanticismo, en el convergen muchas de estas ideas convirtiéndolo, tal vez a su pesar, en un insospechado heredero de un legado del que se convierte en mediador –a través de Nietzsche (y Freud) a importantes corrientes de pensamiento del siglo XX.  Schopenhauer nada contra la corriente de su tiempo: no le anima el placer de la acción, sino el arte del nirvana. Este filósofo de lo irracional, diseña una filosofía de la contemplación, que invita a inhibir la acción o suprimir el deseo-  Su sueño es un mundo transformado en el espejo “desinteresado”de la música.
