Box Score

BUFFALO, NEW YORK -- Duquesne's women's volleyball team extended their 2002 season record to a perfect 5-0 as the Dukes topped Niagara University 3-0 (30-21, 30-25, 30-17) Saturday morning at the Purple Eagles Gallagher Center in DU's second game of this weekend's Canisius / Niagara Tournament. Head Coach Steve Opperman used all twelve players for the second straight match this season.

Junior Sarah Morrow (Baytown, Texas / Robert E. Lee) and sophomore Erin Trageser (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) led Duquesne's balanced attack with eight kills each. Morrow, this week's Atlantic 10 Volleyball Player of the Week and DU's Co-Student-Athlete of the Week, also had 14 digs while fellow junior Sarah Brown (Glen Rock, Pa. / Susquehannock) contributed 28 assists in the victory.

The Dukes recorded a season-best 11 blocks with freshman Diana Wuebker (St. Henry, Ohio/St. Henry) pacing the Red and Blue with five assists.

The Dukes will take on Maine at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon again at the Gallagher Center in their final contest in the three-match tournament.
