Brad Laux

Brad Laux returned to the Morehead State Media Relations Office in the fall of 2021 after spending 16 years as a sports writer and editor for various newspapers in Northeastern Kentucky, as well as operating the website 1016Sports.com, which covers high school sports in Kentucky's 10th and 16th Regions. He previously served as MSU's Assistant Sports Information Director from 1998-2005.

Laux will work with the cross country/track and field, and softball programs as their media contact.

As a sports writer and photographer, he won 10 Kentucky Press Association awards. He also continues to freelance for multiple area publications.

Laux served as a graduate assistant in the Women's Media Relations Office at the University of Tennessee from 1996-98, where he received his Masters' Degree in Sports Management. Prior to that, he spent three years as an intern in the George Mason University Sports Information Office.

Originally from Springfield, Va., Laux is a 1992 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication. He spent four years as the manager of the Spartan men's basketball team and a semester in the UNCG Sports Information Office.

He also has worked at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., and at both the 1994 World Cup and the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Laux and his wife, Ginny, reside in Morehead.
