Researcher, teacher and consultant in the sociology of health and illness and public health since 1979. Current resarch interests:
- Combining informal care for the aged with employment (joint Swiss/Austrian research project sponsored by SNF and FWF)
- Workplace Health Promotion
- Health Promotion in health and social care settings; current focus on aged care
- Implementation and evaluation research
- Combining qualitative and quantitative resarch methods
- Scientific advice and project co-ordination for the r the World Health Organisation, the European Commission, international and national programmes and projects
- Teacher in the Sociology program of the University of Vienna (Privatdozent/ adjunct professor) and at other Austrian univiersites
- Speaker/ board member in professional associations (health and medical sociology in Austria and Europe)
