The purpose of the study is to help firms use strategy as an important tool helping both management and employees in control and evaluation of whether or not the institution's objectives are met. Design/Method/Approach: The researcher used an exploratory study design, and the data was collected through organised interviews via telephone to gather everything that is relevant for the study. Qualitative data collected was thereafter analysed by finding out similarities and differences among the responses collected from different institutions and conclusions made. Findings: The findings indicate that strategic management practices are useful predictor variables of performance. The composite R 2 value of .714 which indicates that 71.4% variation of performance in parastatals in Kenya is as a result of strategic management practices. Of these practices, strategy implementation had the highest impact on performance. The least was strategy evaluation. Theoretical Implications: Strategic fit theory was used to analyse the performance of each parastatal. The researcher then presented the data using a descriptive approach by the use of illustrative quotes. Practical Implications: The performance of parastatals is good with both employees and consumers reporting high levels of satisfaction. Originality/Value: To achieve any organizational goals, a parastatal needs to plan, formulate and implement. The document is to encourage top management in parastatals to practice strategic management as it will have a positive impact on performance in parastatals in Kenya. Research Limitations/Future Research: Like many research studies, a small group of 14 parastatals was examined, and conclusions were made basing on the findings from this sample. This brought about a generalization that was applied to all other subjects in the field. This generalization appeared somewhat unfair judgement about other parastatals from where participants were not selected because different institutions may have different cultures and levels of professionalism, practice and performance when it comes to matters of strategic management.

Big Data has become a crucial element in digital transformation, presenting both challenges and opportunities across various sectors. Key challenges include data privacy issues, security concerns, and the complexity of managing large volumes of data in diverse formats. On the o ther hand, Big Data offers significant opportunities for technological innovation, such as the development of analytics powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning, which can enhance operational efficiency and support datadriven decision-making. This study employs a literature review method to analyze the challenges and opportunities of Big Data as well as relevant implementation strategies. The results reveal that technological approaches such as encryption, tokenization, and blockchain, along with cross-sector collaboration, can address existing challenges. Moreover, the adoption of regulations like GDPR and advancements in analytics technology enable the optimal utilization of opportunities. This study emphasizes the importance of integrated strategies to bridge challenges, protect data privacy, and maximize technological innovation in Big Data management.

The paper calls for implementation plans arising from the just transition framework in South Africa to be based on an explicit collaborative and adaptive approach and proposes a Partnering Implementation Model (PIM) to move from good intentions to implementation. The paper points to recurring patterns of failure to implement policies, frameworks and strategies in South Africa and argues if the proposed just transition implementation plan is going to succeed, it should not only identify state and societal actors necessary for implementation, but, more importantly, adopt a partnering approach that mobilises diverse actors and enables them to work together in practice. The process and practice of partnering, and adaptive management and learning, which forms the basis of the model, is aimed at navigating and managing complexity, especially in low-trust, low-certainty, and low-agreement environments, where no single institution has the whole mandate or resources to resolve the problem on its own, where technical and managerial solutions are insufficient, and where there is a need for human and institutional behaviour change. The partnering model is based on the notion of citizens as potential implementers, rather than passive bystanders in their own development. As such, it specifically challenges the instrumentalist ‘state-client’ model, which reduces citizens to recipients of public services, and instead views the state as a potential enabler of development, supporting non-state initiatives to play a role in delivering a just transition. The model prioritises building and sustaining relationships between the bottom-up mobilising environment and the top-down authorising environment, illustrated by a case study of the Social Employment Fund (SEF).

Globalization is a spatial concept defined as a group of social processes transforming our present social status from our own nationality into a global identity. The impact of neoliberal globalization is discernible in the way that it has projected its own framework to shape education in the Gulf and MENA region, in this case in modernizing curricula and social institutions, especially science curricula. Neoliberalism’s influence from politics to economics has pushed states towards scientific and technological growth and encouraged competition between countries. The resultant modernization has reshaped the great traditions of Arab and Islamic societies and identities due to Western influences, thereby altering the Emirati profile, especially those students graduating from higher education.
In addition, higher education in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is shaped by government legislation that aims to fulfill a global agenda. The goal is to place the UAE as a top-ranking country in different domains, especially in education. The national indicators in the UAE’s state policy documents have been translated into total reforms that have shaped the basic education level up to higher education curricula, most notably in relation to science curricula. Hence, the main objective of this thesis is to explore the impact of neoliberal globalization on science curriculum reform in the UAE from the perspective of Science Curriculum Specialists (SCS) and Science Assessment Specialists (SAS) in the UAE’s Ministry of Education (MoE), who have worked directly on the national science curriculum reform.
This qualitative exploratory study examines the impact of neoliberal globalization on the socio-cultural context that has shaped the UAE’s policy design based on semi-structured interviews with the above specialists. The SCS and SAS interview responses have allowed insight into their complex views about curriculum reform, while the analysis presents an overall understanding of the participants’ views on globalization’s impact on science curriculum reform. The qualitative data collection based on semi-structured interviews conducted with 17 participants illuminates the processes and challenges that UAE MoE stakeholders experienced in order to generate a unique document. Furthermore, despite all the efforts made to shape the science curriculum national framework, the current study recommends measuring the impact of the same science curriculum based on students’ skills at the higher education level. Furthermore, the study’s findings indicate that neoliberal globalization has shaped the UAE’s shift away from an oil-based country to a knowledge-based economy using education as a medium to reform all education curriculum documents, notably the science curriculum editorial, scope and content decisions, all in order to answer the policy requirements of UAE Vision 2021 and UAE Centennial 2071.

The conceptualization of organizational performance has received considerable attention in both the management accounting and nonprofit (NFP) literature. However, it is difficult to reach consensus on what constitutes "organizational performance." The unique nature of NFP, as well as the considerable size and influential impact of this sector in the Western economy, leads us to better understand the nature of performance of such organizations. Some argue that NFPs benefit from taking the same perspective on organizational performance as their commercial counterparts, while others argue that NFPs are so unique that the concept of the commercial sector is inappropriate or very difficult to implement. The paper argues that the seemingly conflicting views of how to conceptualize organizational performance in the NRP sector can be adjusted. The conclusions presented can guide researchers and practitioners in considering the nature of performance in this important sector.

The aim of this study was to investigate sound records management in Nairobi City County (N.C.C) in enhancing service delivery with the intention of making recommendations. The theoretical foundation for the study was based on systems theory. The study adopted the descriptive research design. The target population of the study included all the 22 records clerks in the various departments of Nairobi City County as well as the records manager. A census approach was used to select all the 22 records clerks staff while purposive sampling technique was used to select the records manager. The data collection tools were self-administered questionnaire and interview. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics with the aid of SPSS. Qualitative data was organized into broad themes and the content reported in a narrative form. The researcher collected from the respondents all the questionnaires which translated to a return rate of 100%. The results of the study established that although N.C.C had a records management policy, it was rarely complied with and there was no mechanism in place to monitor the staffs' compliance with it. The policy had also not been reviewed since its formulation. The study recommended that the records manager should establish a mechanism through which the records management policy can be complied with by the personnel.

Walisongo, comprising nine prominent Islamic scholars, played a fundamental role in the spread of Islam in the Nusantara region during the 15th and 16th centuries. They not only disseminated Islamic teachings but also promoted religious moderation through an inclusive approach that harmonized local traditions with Islamic values. The Walisongo established various religious institutions such as pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) and mosques, which became centers for education and religious instruction. They emphasized values of tolerance, simplicity, justice, and discipline in their teachings and conduct. Additionally, they introduced Arab arts, literature, and architecture, blending these with local cultures to create a sustainable and harmonious cultural integration. The influence of Walisongo is significant in shaping the religious and cultural identity of Indonesia, laying the foundation for an inclusive and progressive Islamic education. Through their example and teachings, Walisongo established a strong foundation for religious moderation in the Nusantara, with lasting relevance to this day.

The research aims to gain a deeper understanding of Walisongo's contributions to fostering inter-religious harmony and its relevance in the contemporary context. The methodology employed includes literature study and qualitative approaches, analyzing various sources related to the history of Walisongo and the concept of religious moderation in Islam. The discussion encompasses the historical background of Walisongo, their contributions to formulating the concept of religious moderation, the values they uphold, and the implementation of a historybased model of religious moderation in modern Indonesia. This article emphasizes that values such as tolerance, humanity, multicultural education, culture, nationality, wisdom, and peaceful behavior are essential foundations for developing a model of religious moderation in Indonesia. By applying these values, it is hoped that Indonesian society can achieve stronger national unity in the future.

This article examines the historical role of Walisongo in spreading Islam in Indonesia with a distinctive and relevant moderation approach. It focuses on their innovative da'wah strategies, integration of Islamic values with local wisdom, and their contribution in creating social harmony amidst the cultural diversity of the archipelago. Through in-depth analysis, this article explores how inclusive, culture-based proselytization methods have enabled the Walisongo to build a strong foundation of Islam, while strengthening diversity as the wealth of the nation. It also highlights the relevance of the Walisongo's principles of moderation in responding to the challenges of diversity in contemporary Indonesia, especially in the context of maintaining religious harmony and the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). By drawing inspiration from the history of the Walisongo, this article offers a new perspective on the importance of religious moderation as a strategy to strengthen unity and build a peaceful, tolerant and inclusive society in the modern era.

RESUME : La migration des données de gestion de cycle de vie des produits demande de maîtriser les projets de transformation de données impliquant d'importants volumes de données complexes. Généralement, la complexité est liée à la topologie du graphe de relation entre les objets et les liens. Lors du cadrage d'un tel projet, il faut être capable de mesurer sa complexité en un temps très court afin d'estimer la charge nécessaire de manière fiable. D'autre part, certains projets de transformation de données présentent un haut degré de complexité. Leur analyse demande une approche holistique et une remise en cause des lotissements de données ou de l'organisation des acteurs du projet. Ces besoins ont engendré l'initiative Data Systemizer qui a élaboré une méthode outillée dédiée aux projets de transformation de données permettant de faire émerger le meilleur lotissement de données et de le représenter graphiquement dans un formalisme naturel aux décideurs et de fournir des livrables clefs permettant de maîtriser l'exécution du projet. Le « graphe de données inextricable » doit ainsi devenir un ensemble clair et synthétique de lots liés entre eux, celui-ci étant optimisé mathématiquement pour minimiser les dépendances entre lots.

Abstract: This study investigates the role of AI-powered self-assessment tools in enhancing innovation management for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The primary purpose is to provide SMEs with a cost effective means to assess and develop their innovation capacities across eight key areas strategic orientation, innovation portfolio, innovation process, innovative talent and culture, innovation capabilities, technology adoption, strategic alliances, and innovation performance measurement. Utilizing a qualitative, exploratory approach, data was gathered through a Scopus database search and supplemented with relevant literature on AI and innovation management. Findings reveal that AI-driven assessments based on data analysis, pattern recognition, and predictive modeling significantly benefit SMEs by offering actionable insights and recommendations, enabling efficient decision-making, and promoting competitive dynamism. However, limitations such as data quality, algorithmic bias, and privacy concerns must be carefully managed to avoid potential risks associated with AI implementation. The study discusses the impact of AI on reducing the "innovation divide" by democratizing access to advanced innovation management tools, thus supporting SMEs in achieving strategic growth and market adaptability. This research concludes that AI-driven tools represent a valuable asset for SMEs, bridging gaps in consultancy access, and fostering economic inclusivity.

Identitet poduzeća može se jednostavno opisati kao skup individualnih karakteristika poduzeća. Za uspješan opstanak i položaj na tržištu potrebno je njegovati, usavršavati, nadograđivati, a po potrebi i mijenjati identitet poduzeća. Da bi vanjski dionici pozitivno percipirali identitet poduzeća, mora se postići konsenzus o identitetu unutar njega samoga. U radu se istražuju percepcije menadžmenta i ostalih zaposlenika o identitetu poduzeća, pri čemu je najveći naglasak na analizi interne komunikacije kao jedne od sastavnica identiteta poduzeća. Pretpostavka o jednakosti percepcija identiteta poduzeća među menadžmentom i ostalim zaposlenicima provedenim istraživanjem nije u potpunosti potvrđena. Strategy can only impact the bottom line if it successfully implemented. In the past it has been proposed that the public sector experiences great difficulties in regard to implementing reforms and offering of quality services. This study sought to fill a gap by carrying out research on strategy implementation. The objective was to determine the challenges faced in the implementation of Kenya's Vision 2030. This was a case study since the unit of analysis was a single organization. The researcher used primary data which was collected using a self-administered interview guide. The respondents in this study were eight individuals in the Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat; they included directors and other staff in the rank of a manager. A content analysis was used to analyze the respondents' views about the challenges faced in the implementation of Kenya Vision 2030 strategy. The study concludes that the implementation of Kenya's Vision 2030 is faced by myriad of challenges such as inadequate and limited resource allocation especially in carrying out development activities; political interference; uncertain political environment; constant inflation compounded with the weak currency; global recession, hence limited donor funding which is also greatly linked to donor dependency; corruption especially in the misappropriation of funds as seen in the free Primary Education Programme; inadequate and ineffective involvement by the citizens of Kenya; unsustainability of programmes; insufficient disaggregated data; poor linkage of policy, planning and budgeting at the grass root levels; natural and man-made disasters such as famine, drought, post election violence of 2007 and economic crisis leading to reprioritization. Great strategies are not discovered over a couple of strategic sessions nor by trial and error. On the contrary, great strategies evolve over time as a result of rigorous monitoring of progress towards strategic goals, and in this case National goals; emerging realities are discussed thread bare and learning helps in revising the strategies. In effect, it can be said that meticulous implementation has strategic planning and development embedded in it. This is crucial in the successful implementation of Kenya's Vision 2030. The study recommends that coordination and sharing of activities and responsibilities among those charged with the implementation of flagship projects and Middle Term Plans, proper training needs, and adequate and sufficient allocation of finances in the budget are some of the solutions that need to be factored to ensure successful implementation of Kenya's Vision 2030 by the Delivery Secretariat and the Ministry of State for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030. Further, since Vision 2030 is charged with industrializing the nation and making it a middle-income economy, the study proposes that there should be enhanced networking and collaboration with other development partners, capacity building of the communities to enhance project sustainability and ownership, employment of a bottom-up approach where programmes and projects begin at the community level; promotion of understanding of development agenda at all levels, promotion of transparency and accountability through enhanced corporate governance, public-private partnerships; and effectiveness in the implementation and monitoring of devolved funds so as to maximize benefits.

The influence of firm-level strategy on organizational performance in manufacturingcompanies continues to be a dominant discussion in the recent past. The paper isdetermining firm-level strategy and performance connections in of food and beveragemanufacturing companies in Kenya. The results are built on a survey of top executive’sopinion on firm-level strategy and execution in their factories. The study used crosssectional design of the sector that delivered data in a structured questionnaire. Thehypothesis was tested using simple regression analysis. The study showed thatcorporate-level strategy was statistically insignificant on financial performance.However, firm-level strategy on combined organizational performance was statisticallysignificant.

The study focused on investigating the causal relationship between the design of remuneration policies and company performance. The study allowed us to conclude that the design of the remuneration policy appears to influence sustainable performance (ml term), albeit in a minor way, and we detected some issues that may have practical relevance for management, regarding incentives and behaviors. To summarize the literature review, and aiming for a future practical approach to behavioral finance, we developed a proposal for an approach Framework. Resource allocation practices on strategy implementation are a critical aspect of organizational success, yet they remain underexplored in the context of religious organizations. The study analyzed resource allocation practices and how they affect strategy implementation in the churches within the Catholic Diocese of Nyahururu, Kenya. The study adopted a descriptive research design incorporating qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, that is, stratified sampling approach was used to gather data from the target population, the parish priests, local church administrators, heads of various institutions, employees in strategic leadership positions, and bishops. Questionnaires and interviews were used to collect data on resource allocation practices, strategy implementation outcomes, and other relevant variables. The data was analyzed using statistical techniques to identify patterns, correlations, and trends. Findings will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by offering insights into the relationship between resource allocation practices and strategy implementation in the diocese. The study highlighted the importance of effective resource allocation practices and their impact on achieving strategic goals.

The study sought to research the impact of budgetary control on the economic overall financial performance of the industrial
parastatals in Kenya from the year 2013 to 2023. This was accomplished by specifically analyzing the influence of budgetary
planning on the financial performance of the industrial parastatals in Kenya. The study used a descriptive research design and
targeted the chosen 10 industrial parastatals in Kenya from the listed 46 business parastatals in Kenya. The study utilized
primary data collected through structured questionnaires from commercial parastatals. The gathered data was coded and
cleaned using SPSS software. Descriptive statistics provided an overview of the sample, including demographic details of the
respondents, as well as measures such as central tendencies, standard deviation, range, and variance. The results were
presented using tables, charts, themes, and graphs. Causal relationships were evaluated using R², F values, and beta
coefficients, with a significance level set at 0.05, and coefficients were tested accordingly. The findings indicate that budgetary
planning (β=0.277, p=0.000), have a significant and positive effect on the financial performance of industrial parastatals in
Kenya. The moderation analysis revealed that budgetary planning has a positive but marginally non-significant effect when
moderated by treasury mechanisms. Thus, the study provides a clear direction for improving financial performance through
several key budgetary practices. Strengthening budgetary planning by developing guidelines, investing in training, and using
advanced tools will create a more strategic approach to financial management.

Project management maturity is a path that organizations and/or procedures take as they gain experience. This study sought to
establish levels of project management maturity at Geothermal Development Company (GDC) and how it has affected the
overall project performance at the organization. The study was anchored on contingency theory and supported by the theory of
constraints. A descriptive survey design was employed used and a sample size of 273 respondents sampled the study out of a
target of 936. A proportionate stratified and simple random sampling technique was applied to select respondents by regions
which include Nairobi, Central Rift and North Rift regions. Structured questionnaires were used to gather data which was then
analyzed using SPSS (version 22) software. The study used both descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings showed that
a unit increase in extent of model use would lead to a 0.437 increase in performance of projects at GDC in Kenya. The Project
management processes and practices had a positive significant influence on performance of Projects at GDC in Kenya. The
study results revealed a positive correlation between Project management knowledge and the performance of Projects at GDC
in Kenya. The study concluded that the organization had a well-documented plan for assessing and tracking projects/service
delivery.  Further, training for managers was found to be critical for effective management and sustainability of the power
projects. Additionally, the management was found to engage stakeholders in decision making and planning.  The employees
had knowledge on communication, risk, human resources, procurement and integration of project management of the
organization to a great extent. Finally, the study results indicated that, the employees had knowledge on scope, time, quality
and cost of project management of the organization to a great extent.

This study investigates the impact of leadership styles on employee performance at Hormuud Telecom in Mogadishu, Somalia. Employing Partial Least Squares (PLS) regression and a sample of 150 employees, the study examines the effects of Autocratic, Democratic, and Transformational leadership styles on employee performance. The findings revealed that Democratic Leadership (DL) and Transformational Leadership (TL) significantly enhanced employee performance, whereas Autocratic Leadership (AL) did not exhibit a significant impact. These results highlighted the importance of participative decision-making and visionary leadership in boosting employee motivation and productivity. The study contributes to understanding effective leadership practices in the telecommunications industry in Somalia and suggests that organizations should emphasize democratic and transformational leadership to improve performance. Future research should focus on the long-term effects of leadership styles and consider additional contextual factors to provide a more comprehensive understanding of their impact on employee performance.

The aim of this study was to investigate effects of strategic management practices on competitive advantage in selected private banks in Ethiopia. Data was collected from 332 respondents selected from five private banks. The study employed descriptive and explanatory designs, and mixed approach. Simple random sampling technique was used in this study. Closed-ended questionnaire, semi-structured interviews, and focus group discussion were used to collect both quantitative and qualitative data. Descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation; and inferential statistics including correlation, regression, and ANOVA were used to analyse quantitative data collected for the study. Qualitative data collected by semi-structured interview and focus group discussion were analysed using codes and themes. The major findings of the study were: private banks in Ethiopia conducted environmental scanning before the strategy formulation; conducted strategy formulation; implementation of the formulated strategy done; and conducted evaluation and control of the performance of the banks; there is a positive and significant relationship between strategic management practices (environmental scanning, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and evaluation and control) and competitive advantage; and the three strategic management dimensions (evaluation and control, strategy implementation, strategy formulation) have significant impact on competitive advantage whereas environmental scanning have a relatively lower effect on competitive advantage compared to other three elements of strategic management practices dimensions. Based on the major findings of the study and conclusions drawn, the following recommendations were made: environmental scanning, strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation and control should be done with the involvement of the managers and employees at corporate, divisional, and functional unit levels of the banking industry; the top-management in the banking industry should recognize that institution is essential to make effective strategic decisions.

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of strategic communication in the context of strategy implementation on performance of Mobile-Commerce (M-Commerce) in Kenya’s commercial banks.  This study was motivated by the high failure rate in strategy implementation and the view that effective strategy implementation influences performance. The study adopted a positivistic research orientation and design. There is limited research on strategy implementation and challenges associated with organizational strategy implementation. A significant amount of scholarly work has gone into strategy formulation, but implementation of business strategies has not had a strong focus. Studies on M-Commerce have concentrated on customer adoption and end user performance, and not from the financial provider perspective and this study was intended to close this gap. ABSTRACTS

This study investigates the factors affecting strategy implementation at the Ethiopian Insurance Corporation. The researcher however, tried to investigate and compile the factors affecting strategy implementations in organizations in Ethiopia. Several factors affecting these organizations were theoretically identified in previous research in Ethiopia, and the most common ones examined in this study are human resources, planning, organizational structure, organizational culture, leadership style, communication, and systems and procedures. Most of these factors are similar to those adopted by the Eight S model of strategy implementation, such as strategy, structure, systems, style, staff, resources, and organizational culture. This research investigated the effects of these factors identified by the model on the corporation's strategic performance. A descriptive research design with a quantitative approach was employed. A sample of 190 management members at all levels was surveyed using an online questionnaire, resulting in a response rate of 85.3%. Data reliability and validity tests were conducted using Cronbach's alpha, and the robustness and consistency of the measurement instrument used in the study have proven to provide confidence in the reliability of the data collected and analyzed. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 27. Detailed descriptive statistical analyses, correlations, and regression analyses were made and interpreted in this research. The findings of the study revealed that all the factors affecting strategy implementation in the model have positive correlations with the strategic performance of the corporation, with varying degrees. Moreover, the result showed that organizational culture, staff, systems, and styles are the primary factors affecting the corporation's strategic performance. Statistically, they significantly and positively affected the corporation's performance. This result is also supported by empirical data found by research conducted using the same model and others. However, strategy, structure, and resources had statistically insignificant and negative impacts on the strategic performance of the corporation. This study contributes to the existing knowledge on strategy implementation by applying the Eight S model in the Ethiopian insurance sector, building upon a previous study conducted on Ethiopian Airlines. The findings also provide insights into the factors affecting strategy implementation in the broader Ethiopian context.

The purpose of the study is to establish whether corporate governance moderates the relationship between strategy implementation and the performance of road projects by Kenya Rural Roads Authority. The study employs a multi-theoretical approach, integrating Resource-Based Theory, Agency Theory, Contingency Theory of Leadership, Legitimacy Theory, Theory of Constraints, Enterprise Risk Management, Technology Acceptance Model, and Communication Theory. The study utilized a mixed-methods approach, with pragmatism as the chosen research philosophy. The study focused on 140 Development Road Projects by KeRRA. The sample comprised 208 individuals, including 104 Strategy Implementation Officers (SIOs) and 104 Contractors' Chief Executive Officers (CEOs). This was determined using the Solvin 1974 formula due to authority duality. The Director General of KeRRA and the Secretary to the Board of Directors were also part of the target population. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, utilizing a sequential explanatory design to investigate the relationship between governance practices, technology adoption, resource availability, communication, and road project outcomes at the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA). Data collection involved questionnaires and interviews with strategy implementation officials and the Director General, utilizing cluster, stratified, and deliberate sampling for both qualitative and quantitative data. Statistical analyses, including Pearson correlation and regression analysis were performed on SPSS Version 27. The study revealed that corporate governance practices have a statistically significant moderating effect on the influence of strategy implementation on the performance of road projects by Kenya Rural Roads Authority.

For three decades, the South African public sector has been amid poor service delivery and poor employee performance management. In 2022 and 2023, the South African Auditor-General reported that the public sector is facing consistent challenges of unauthorised, irregular, fruitless, and wasteful expenditure which ultimately leads to poor service delivery. These consistent challenges have been associated with the poor implementation of employee performance management. Therefore, this paper utilised a strategy-as-practice approach to insightfully discuss efficient execution strategies that middle managers in the public sector can apply to eradicate poor performance management. This paper employed a qualitative approach to analyse some of the efficient strategies for executing performance management. Document review and thematic analyses were used to meet the objectives of the study. Through the analyses of theoretical and empirical literature, this paper found that there is a challenge in the implementation of performance management by middle managers in the public sector. Moreover, through the analyses of literature on efficient strategies of performance management, several themes were identified as the main strategies to help middle managers efficiently implement performance management. Capstone strategy courses are required in most business schools at undergraduate and graduate levels. The focus of some of these capstone courses is to increase understanding of a general manager's view of the firm, often by using an integrated approach such as strategic decision-making framework and/or case analysis. In such courses, students may be asked to integrate different corporate, business-level, and functional strategies to analyze various business issues. Business students often struggle with this comprehensive integration because the students may have focused their studies on only one or two managerial areas, limiting their knowledge to their desired discipline and/or current line/department of work. The purpose of this exercise is to leverage students' thinking skills-comprehension, synthesis, and evaluation-to improve students' overall understanding of functional responsibilities and functional implications when a company pursues a new strategy. Most importantly, we intend to increase studentmaterial, student-student, student-teacher, and student-larger world around us interaction. The exercise is designed to be equally applicable to undergraduates, MBA students, and management trainees.

The purpose of this study was to identify the determinants of strategic success or failure in Zimbabwean Profit and Non-Profit Organizations. The convergent parallel mixed methods research design was adopted as the guiding model for the data collection, analysis and interpretation process in this study. This explains why data was collected through a concurrent parallel methodological triangulation of questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Quantitative data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21.0 while the analysis of qualitative data was performed using the NVivo 10 data analysis software. The study established that there is a high rate of strategy implementation failure in Zimbabwean Profit and Non-profit Organizations. The failure to build the distinctive competences and resource capabilities needed for successful strategy implementation was identified as the main cause of strategic failure in these Organizations.

Kenya's economy largely relies on the agriculture sector, which contributes 25.3% of Gross Domestic Product, out of which 2.63% is from the Horticulture sub-sector while 1.29% is from the flower industry. In spite of research in various aspects of strategic management practices in various sectors, there has not been a study on the influence of strategic management practices on the performance of Floriculture Firms in Kenya, and this formed the general objective of this study which was carried in Kiambu County in central Kenya. A descriptive survey design was used with a target population of 21 floricultural firms out of which 10 firms were selected by simple random sampling, and 5 respondents from each of the 10 firms purposively chosen. Structured questionnaires were used to collect primary data. Chi-Square (X2) test was used to test the four hypotheses to establish significance of association. The findings established that majority of the firms had a strategic plan ,implemented their strategic plans as planned, conduct strategy evaluation and control on their strategic management practices. Further, that strategy formulation, implementation, evaluation and control had significant influence on the performance of flower firms to a moderate extent. The researcher recommended that top-level managers should seek more input from the lower level managers and supervisors when formulating strategy so that the formulated plans are effective and in line with both long and short term objectives of the organization.

This study intended to unravel the influence of information quality on service delivery of state corporations in Kenya. The motivation of the study was out of unresolved number of research gaps which could only be addressed through an integrated conceptual model testing on how information quality could individually affect service delivery of state owned entities. The Fourth Industrial Revolution Theory and Diffusion of Innovation (DoI) Theory guided the conceptualization of the investigation. To achieve the study objective, positivist philosophy was applied since only factual knowledge that was gained through observation and measurement was relied on. Descriptive cross-sectional technique was used to gather comprehensive information about all the 178 state corporations in Kenya at a span of five years since 2013 to 2018. Primary and secondary data were collected through administering structured questionnaire and from annual performance contract reports respectively. The analysis established that 37.8% of variations in service delivery of state corporations in Kenya are explained by the changes in information quality. The findings of this study can be utilized by all staff cadres in embracing information quality to foster knowledge that facilitates service delivery of state corporations. Based on the results of this study, the government through relevant ministries and other stakeholders in the state corporations sector should develop appropriate policies in an attempt to organize quality information systems that in turn enhances information quality that supports networking and sharing of credible information about current customer needs and trends.

This study aims to critically examine the current state of the CI and the strategy implementation literature. It also identifies gaps and limitations in the existing literature. Method: This study employed systematic literature with the selection criterion to identify 33 publications published between 2008 and 2022. Thematic content analysis provided a range of analytic options. Academic Search Complete, EBSCOhost, and Google Scholar databases were used to locate peer-reviewed journal articles. The publications were grouped by journal names, year of publication, and article count. Results: The study found that CI played a vital role in developing company strategies and practices. Our study also showed that a plethora of peer-reviewed academic articles on CI were published in developed countries such as North America and Europe. Only a few CI-related studies have been published in developing countries. Conclusion: Most authors have not examined how CI leads to strategy implementation, even though CI research has gained traction internationally over the years. Competitive intelligence was not found to have a relationship with implementing, evaluating, and monitoring strategies pointing out gaps in the literature and suggesting future research. Contribution: This study examines the current state of the literature on CI and strategy implementation, and identifies gaps in the existing literature. Furthermore, the study contributes to academic knowledge by emphasising the significance of a well-defined and structured CI process in achieving strategy implementation outcomes.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to study the operational process factors that affect successful strategy implementation in the Middle East.Design/methodology/approachFive operational process factors were studied (resource availability, communication, operational planning, people, control and feedback). Data were collected using a self-administrated questionnaire from employees who implement and/or are responsible for strategy implementation in 17 pharmaceutical companies. The objective of this research was to explore the current challenges experienced in global human resource during the period 2010-2014. Purposive sampling was used to select 25 human resource specialists of global multinational corporations (MNCs) and gather data on their views regarding challenges in global human resource transformation. A standardized structured questionnaire was used to collect data on the respondents' level of agreement regarding the prevalence of global human resource management challenges. The Keiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) measure of sampling adequacy (MSA) and Cronbach's alpha values for discrete dimensions of global human resource management transformation challenges show that the data used for the research was structurally valid and reliable. Results derived from frequencies and descriptive statistics indicate that implementation of change, recruitment and selection of employees, performance management and review of labour laws of host countries, currently remain as global human resource transformation challenges. Based on the results computed from the Principal Component Analysis (PCA), strategic talent management emerged as the most significant challenge in global human resource transformation; followed by strategic workforce planning, global alignment of human resource policies and resistance to change.

Research on strategy implementation has been developed for three decades, yet only a few studies focus on factors affecting poor strategy implementation. This research evaluates the influence of strategy implementation problems on strategy implementation success and firm performance. This survey was conducted in 60 Indonesian companies and the data were statistically analysed using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM PLS). The results show significant influence of strategy implementation problems on the degree of successful strategy implementation and perceived firm performance. The seven major obstacles that have impact on poor strategy implementation are: problems related to corporate scorecard, key performance indicators, information technology, competence, performance appraisal, strategy management office, and financial support.
