Fall Protection Program

The Fall Protection Program defines the equipment, devices and systems used to prevent workplace falls from elevated walking-working surfaces such as roofs, platforms, runways and ramps.
Each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 meters) or more above a lower level must be protected from falling using a Passive Fall Protection System (PFPS) or a Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS). These systems are defined within the program along with guidance for selection, implementation, training on how to use these systems properly and inspections.
