    The history of photography is penetrated by people who tried to


    substantiate the presence of ghosts. Even more general: photography and the lie
    became synonymous, today more than ever.
    Under those prerequisites, will the ethical challenge, the questions of guilt be
    central to any aesthetics, as Adam Thirlwell stated? What about the blur-effect?
    Is it still a useful tool or exhausted as an over-used clich?
    Another aspect touches the intertwined relations between text and photographic
    image is it possible (or even desirable) to get the pure image, not affected by any
    written word? The fusion and interconnections between sculpture, comic strip,
    painting, letters and photography prove that the medium tries to overcome its
    bad reputation as a mechanical discharge of a powerful machine by finding a safe
    haven in the arms of the other art forms.
    Mr. Detto will be exhibiting his photographs at Meta House on November 8th at 6PM.
