2 Mode of operation
Outgoing or incoming calls are rejected if the feature Access Barring has been activated. The rejected calls can be diverted to an information service (e.g. announcement, audible tone, operator terminal). The restrictions are assigned for the subscriber by the operator. In the case of PBX lines, a restriction can also be created for individual lines. The restrictions do not influence existing connections, but only apply to new call attempts. An appropriate announcement is applied for terminating traffic. In the case of data circuits, a message is sent to the data terminal. Requested suspension The operating company can prevent all outgoing/incoming calls for a subscriber. The network provider creates the restriction at the request of the subscriber. Account suspension The operating company can prevent all outgoing/incoming calls for a subscriber who has failed to pay a call charge invoice. Requested suspension and account suspensions can be assigned separately for originating or terminating traffic. Both suspension types are also created for services (e.g. nailed-up connections, do not disturb service) used by a subscriber or a private branch exchange (PBX). Administration blocking, incoming and outgoing The operating company can prevent all incoming and outgoing calls to/from the subscriber for administrative purposes. Administrative blocks can likewise be created for services used by a basic access or individual channels of a primary rate access. Administration blocking and maintenance blocking are effective in both originating and terminating traffic.
