CHAPTER-1 INTRODUCTION

The ASP.NET page and controls framework is a programming framework that runs on a Web server to dynamically produce and render ASP.NET Web pages. ASP.NET Web pages can be requested from any browser or client device, and ASP.NET renders markup (such as HTML) to the requesting browser. As a rule, we can use the same page for multiple browsers, because ASP.NET renders the appropriate markup for the browser making the request. However, we can design our ASP.NET Web page to target a specific browser and take advantage of the features of that browser. ASP.NET Web pages are completely object-oriented. Within ASP.NET Web pages we can work with HTML elements using properties, methods, and events. The ASP.NET page framework removes the implementation details of the separation of client and server inherent in Web-based applications by presenting a unified model for responding to client events in code that runs at the server. The framework also automatically maintains the state of a page and the controls on that page during the page processing life cycle. The ASP.NET page and controls framework also enables us to encapsulate common UI functionality in easy-to-use, reusable controls. Controls are written once, can be used in many pages, and are integrated into the ASP.NET Web page that they are placed in during rendering. The ASP.NET page and controls framework also provides features to control the overall look and feel of your Web site via themes and skins. We can define themes and skins and then apply them at a page level or at a control level.

In addition to themes, we can define master pages that we use to create a consistent layout for the pages in our application. A single master page defines the layout and standard behavior that we want for all the pages (or a group of pages) in our application. We can then create individual content pages that contain the page-specific content we want to display. When users request the content pages, they merge with the master page to produce output that combines the layout of the master page with the content from the content page. The .NET framework is one of the most widely used software development environments in todays programming world. The .NET Framework, offered by Microsoft, has provided programmers a single platform for applications using different programming languages, such as Visual Basic, Visual C#, and Visual C++. The .NET Framework reduces the difficulty involved in building large, reliable applications. The .NET Framework is a development and environment that allows developers to develop Windows applications as well as Web applications. The whole purpose of computerizing the Placement System is to handle the work much more accurately and efficiently with less time consumption. There will be additional work to be completed, because now the students and the companies can update their resumes and profiles online. Their database is maintained separately. Compared to the semi-computerized system the chances of avoiding errors in a computerized system is much higher because the user need not stress himself unnecessarily resulting in recklessness. Unlike the semi-computerized system there would be backup data for all the information concerning the daily transactions occurred within the organization. If we are considering the performance and response time for each task, it is very much faster since there is less paper work to be completed. When entering data into the system to relieve the

user from additional work and typing incorrect data, the system provides options such as combo boxes, check boxes, option buttons and etc. if the users type in incorrect data they would be informed immediately about the error by the error detection control. Another important fact to be regarded is the security control, which is handled by the system. Since data regarding each student and the company is confidential, security is a key issue. Information falling into the wrong hands could jeopardize the entire organization. Unlike in semi-computerized systems the proposed system offers adequate control to protect the organization against fraud and embezzlement and guarantees the accuracy and security of data and information. This is handled by the system providing each department and individuals with separate login names and passwords. The new system is more user-friendly, which enables the end-user to complete his/her work efficiently and accurately with interest. After taking the above fact into consideration we can state the operating of the proposed system within the organization is feasible.

CHAPTER-2 PROJECT REVIEW

The Video Intercom is a software application that will allow the user to setup a video call as well as a voice call within a small organization like college. It is based on intercommunication system, a stand-alone voice communication system for use, functioning independently of the public telephone network. It will also allow the user to send text messages. 2.1) STUDY OF EXISTING SYSTEM The existing system is a manual system. It is a file based system. A file based system is a collection of application programs that perform services for the users wishing to access information. Each program within a file based system defines and manages its own data. A file based system suffers from following drawbacks:1. It is time consuming to use a manual system. 2. Chances of error are more. 3. Migration is difficult from one format to other. 4. Less security. 5. Consistency is not there. 6. Lack of flexibility. Incompatible data because of different file formats etc.

CHAPTER-4 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

4.1) RESULTS: Video Intercom is a software application that will overcome the limitations of the manual system. It is an automated system, that can be implemented in a small organization or building. It will allow the user to setup a video as well as a voice call. Through this system user can also send text messages. Video Intercom is a little piece of software that lets you talk over the internet to anyone in the world for free. Video Intercom talk is clean friendly not violent. Video Intercom helps for video chatting with your friends. Video Intercom means lets you make new friends, invite your friends and enlarge your circles of friends. Share connect have fun. Video Intercom is clean friendly not violent. Video Intercom helps for video chatting with your friends. It provides a facility to face to face chatting establish your friends circle, and you can chat with friends directly as you are chatting in home. Video Intercom has the ability to allow desktop sharing, making it easy to communicate with others and show them how to do perform any type of task on a computer.
