moves at a time. As scientists do, we then observed red worms and compared
them to the earthworms. We found many similarities and many differences.
Ask us about the two types of worms we studied!
Our Isopods also arrived! We will study these insects after our zoo trip.

Eric Carle, our May Author of the
Month, uses paper that he paints and
scrapes to then create his collage
illustrations. We painted paper this
week and scraped the paper to add
texture. We then used this paper to
make a collage of our zoo animal.
WOW! These were a lot of work, but
our hard work paid off! They look
fantastic! You will get to see them
at our Celebration of Learning!

Wass Mission Statement

Zoo Study
This week, we began to study the zoo.
We learned about animals found in a zoo and
animals found on a farm. We read a variety of
zoo animal books to determine the animal we
each wanted to research. We were able to pick
an animal for our research project. You will see
and hear our research project at our
Celebration of Learning! We are so excited
about our zoo trip to see our animal in person!
