WASTE MANAGEMENT OF
MANDAUE CITY
OBJECTIVE
To monitor, coordinate, facilitate, and
provide assistance in the development
and implementation of an improved
solid waste management program in
the City of Mandaue.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF BARANGAYS
Identify markets for materials that are diverted from disposal
facilities through re-use, recycling, and composting, and other
environment-friendly methods
Enact ordinances that will ensure that sound waste management
practices are established and sustained in the community and aid in
the implementation and enforce the provisions of RA 9003 such as
establishment of Local Solid Waste Management Fund (Local Fund)
Strictly impose sanctions for the violation of environmental rules
and ordinances
Impose Fees, through SWM Boards, for collection and
segregation of biodegradable, compostable and reusable wastes
from households, commerce, other sources of domestic wastes
and for the use of barangay MRFs.
Create a Barangay Solid Waste Management Committee
Set up a Materials Recovery Facility
Collect only biodegradable, recyclable, compostable and reusable
wastes.
