n AM interval (span)
TUNER
(BAND)
The Intermittonal Telecommunicatron Unron (ITU) has established that member countries should matntarn etther a 10 kHz
or a 9 ktiz interval between broadcasting frequencies of any
AM station. The illustration shows the 9 kHz interval zones
(regrow 1 and 3). and the 10 kHz interval zone (region 2).
This product IS not equipped with a span selector. However. it
will be adjusted to either a 9 kHz or 10 kHz span when shrpped
from the &tory.
Before usmg the unit. check whetherornot the initral span is the
same span as used in your area, using the folIowIng method.
down
Note:
0 To return the tuning span to9kHz. unplugthe AC powerlead
from the AC socket and then press the RESET button.
Cautions:
0 When the unit IS left for approximately two weeks after the
span has been switched and the AC power lead has been
disconnected, it WIII be automatically returned to a 9 kHz
span. If thts happens. set the span agaln.
@ When the span is switched, any stations that are memorised
will be cancelled.
0 When the unit has been already set to a 10 kHz span, It
cannot be swtched to a 9 kHz span.

CAPACITORS
There are two types of capacitors ava, lable and they can be ,dentified from eat,
other by reading their Part Numbers.
Cemn,c type capacitor;
A Symbol C or K is gwen at the 3rd *,git Of Its Part Number ,,ke CC (0
K)
J,
SemwJdlKtor type capacitor:
A symbol 7 IS given at the 3rd diglt of its Part Number lkke VCT..,.--J.
The capmtance error of each capacitor 1s indicated by the symbol gwen at thi
13th drg,t of the Part Number as follows:J (?5%), K (*IO%), M (*20%:
N (230%). 0 (+O.ZS pF), D (10.5 pF), z (+80-20%).
(Tubular type ceramic capacitor 1s Identified by the symbol TV(TQ/CY) of th,
part NO. VCOOTV(TQ/CY)OOOOOO0; th,s TV(TQ/CY) does not mean the lead w,,e.
(Tubular type ceramic capaator is ldentlfved by the symbol MF(MN) of the par
NO. VCOOMF(MN)000000(1; this MF(MN) does not mean the lead wire.)
Unless otherwise specdied, electrolytic capacitors are t20% type
