Suspension type insulators mechanically hold the conductor thus isolating it from contact
with land and other conductors. GAMMA suspensions support mechanical and electrical
charges ranging from 15,000 to 30,000 lbs. and are available in all tension levels, for both
distribution and transmission systems.
Porcelain suspensions are specifically designed to comply with ANSI CLASS (C29.2-1992)
standards, ensuring the performance of both the electrical and mechanical functions, as
well as to satisfy all dimensional specifications and applicable requirements.
The porcelain suspensions portfolio includes FOG type insulators for high-contaminated
environments. These are offered in brown or gray glaze according to customer preferences
and standards for each country.
Post and cable mount hardware allow insulators to be fixed in suspension and retention
designs for a perfect connection. These are manufactured in galvanized steel with different
configurations, including double galvanized layer or zinc sleeve characteristics that satisfy
all mounting requirements.

Suspension type polymer insulators mechanically hold the conductor cable and electrically
isolate it both from contact from the land and from other conductors. GAMMA polymer
suspensions support mechanical loads ranging from 15736lb to 27000 lbs., with resisting
tensions between 15kV and 69kV for distribution, and between 115kV and 500kV for
transmission.
Polymer insulators are designed and manufactured according to IEC 61109 and ANSI C29.13
standards, to satisfy all applicable requirements, as well as to ensure the quality and
performance of the product throughout its length of service.
Polymer dead ends are manufactured with the highest quality raw materials to ensure a
perfect assembly between the fiberglass nucleus and HTV silicone. Due to this and to the
hydrophobic characteristics of the silicone, humidity cannot enter the nucleus, thus
preventing deterioration of the insulator and extending its service life. These products are
lightweight, resistant to vandalism, and immune to damage due to ultraviolet rays or solar
radiation. These insulators have an aerodynamic design to facilitate self-cleaning by wind
and rain.
All polymer suspension end fittings are designed to satisfy their mechanical and electrical
functions. We offer different combinations of iron fittings for distribution and transmission
lines assemblies: clevis, thimble, ball and socket and Y-clevis type. Depending on the
installation site and customer requirements, we also offer iron fittings with a double
galvanized layer for use in contaminated environments.

strain
Guy strain type porcelains are used in low and medium voltage lines. They are
designed to work in mechanical tension (strain), to withstand the pull of a suspended
electrical wire or cable. Guy strains are used in overhead electrical wiring to support
radio antennas and overhead power lines. A strain insulator may be inserted between
two lengths of wire, to isolate them electrically from each other while maintaining a
mechanical connection, or where a wire attaches to a pole or tower, to transmit the pull
of the wire to the support while insulating it.
GAMMA guy strain type insulators are designed, manufactured and tested according to
ANSI standard (C29.4 1989) using wet shaping processes. These insulators work under
compression efforts instead of tension.
Insulators surface is covered with a waterproof glaze coat, which allows the porcelain
to stay free from dust and dirt caused by environmental contamination. Gray, white or
brown glazing is available according to customer requirements.

Insulators
Pin type insulators are designed to provide line support. The function of these
insulators is to support the conducting cable directly on the head or neck of the
insulator (top and side grooves).
Pin type insulators are designed and manufactured according to ANSI standard (C29.6
1996) in order to ensure their electrical and mechanical performance, as well as to
satisfy all dimensional specifications and requirements. We offer low and medium
voltage pins, and are used in distribution lines ranging from 7.2kV to 34 Kv.
These insulators are also offered with a semi-conductive glaze, generally used to
homogenize the field generated by the electrical path through the conductor that may
cause radio interference.
Pin type insulators are mounted on metallic cross arms, wood cross arms or directly on
the post. GAMMA offers the appropriate iron fittings for each assembly, including
fittings with nylon thread mounting studs replace traditional studs made with lead.
Among the beneficial properties of the nylon thread mounting studs is that these do
not impact the environment or adversely affect the health of individuals manipulating
them.

post
Line posts are support type insulators and are installed on wooden, concrete or
metal cross arms. These are especially designed for distribution lines with typical
application voltages ranging from 25kV to 66kV as per standard ANSI (C29.7
1996). Their strong and robust structural form provides unequalled mechanical and
electrical characteristics.
Nearly impervious to puncture, these insulators generally are used in areas with
lighting hot zones. Designs have a cantilever resistance ranging from 6.6kN to
12.5kN.

Insulators
GAMMA Polymer Distribution Line Post Insulators provide superior support and electrical insulation
on overhead distribution lines, conductor jumpers or leads. They can be installed horizontally or
vertically on metal, concrete or wooden structures.
The core of the insulator is made of a corrosion resistant epoxy resin fiberglass rod constructed
exclusively for electrical and mechanical applications. Housing and sheds consist of a one-piece
injection molded composite material that chemically bonds to the core rod. This creates a
water-tight seal between the polymer and the rod that is impervious to moisture penetration.
The composite material itself is made of silicone rubber with additives to enhance performance in
contaminated environments and under a variety of conditions such as rain, ice, sand and salt.
The line end of GAMMAs Polymer Line Post Insulator is available in two configurations: Hot Dip
Galvanized Iron Casting or Porcelain. The porcelain end fitting provides superior leakage distance
and reduced unit weight. Both are sealed to prevent water from penetrating to the fiberglass core
GAMMA Polymer Line Post Insulators are designed, manufactured and tested according to
ANSI standard C29.18.

station post
The GAMMA and GAMMA-CERISOL brand of ANSI solid core porcelain station-post Insulators are
ideally suited for substation bus support and switch applications.
Station posts in this catalog are available in standard strength, high strength, and extra high
strength, in ratings from 95kV BIL through 1800kV BIL, and for applications ranging from 7.5kV
through 500kV operating voltages.
Each insulator body is molded from the highest quality raw materials produced in our
state-of-the-art mineral processing facilities, yielding a product of exceptional wet process
workability, purity, and uniformity.
The entire surface of each station post receives a smooth, uniform glaze, in either gray or brown,
to provide maximum mechanical porcelain strength, to resist the accumulation of contaminants
on the surface, and to facilitate ease of cleaning via rain or routine maintenance. In addition, the
product line features uniform surface drying and voltage distribution to prevent ashover as well
as dry-band arc suppression for high performance and long term reliability.
All hardware ttings are manufactured using hot dipped galvanized malleable cast iron or ductile
cast iron, and are designed specically for all mechanical and electrical applications to ensure
optimum performance and service longevity.
Portland base mortar is used to secure the hardware to the porcelain body using a proven system
that transfers the load uniformly from the hardware into the porcelain body.
A bituminous coating is applied on the porcelain and the interior of the ttings to compensate for
thermal expansion in extreme weather applications.
Sheds
Sheds are designed to provide excellent
electrical insulation under highly
contaminated conditions, and are strong
enough to provide protection against
mechanical intrusion.
Glaze
The entire surface of each Station Post
receives a smooth, uniform glaze in either
gray or brown to provide maximum
mechanical porcelain strength, to resist
the accumulation of contaminants on the
surface, and to facilitate ease of cleaning
via rain or routine maintenance.
Hardware
All our Station Post hardware ttings are
manufactured using hot dipped galvanized
malleable cast iron or ductile cast iron.
Cementing
With Portland base mortar, hardware ttings are cemented to the
porcelain body using a proven system that transfers the load
uniformly from the hardware into the porcelain body.

guy strain
Insulators
Fiberglass guy strain type insulators are used in low and medium voltage lines.
These are designed to work in mechanical tension (strain), to withstand the pull of
a suspended electrical wire or cable. They are used in overhead electrical wiring to
support radio antennas and overhead power lines.
Fiberglass guy strains are manufactured using high quality raw materials to ensure
a perfect connection between the fiberglass nucleus and cast ductile iron fittings.

Hardware
For Insulators
The Product: Designed to eliminate abrupt changes in curvature, our high quality finished
products, relies on smooth surfaces, with no sharp edges, protusions, burrs, slag or scales.
These designs, avoids points of mechanical stress concentration or electric field, and
possible radio interface signal.
The Galvanized: Galvanized hardware to ensure proper protection from corrosion and
contaminant elements. We also offer double galvanized hardware in order to potentiate
those features, especially when these are going to be installed in contaminated
environments, overall, with our polymer dead end insulators.
Standards as applicable:
