It all started with an idea that turned into an evolving vision for Auto Industry in India during
the 1960s. Right from launching the first indigenous Luna Moped in India in 1975 to
sponsoring the "The Man of the Match"' award in the Indian Cricket Series, Kinetic
Engineering Limited always embark its footprints in the Indian Auto Industry.
Founded in the year 1972 by Mr. H.K. Firodia aka "The Doyen of the Indian Automobile
Industry", today, Kinetic Engineering Limited is the flagship company of the $500 million
Firodia Group of companies, one of the pioneering groups in automobiles in India. Mr. H.K.
Firodia along with his brother started some of the India’s most respected automobile
companies including Kinetic Engineering Limited and Kinetic Honda Motor Company (in
collaboration with Honda).
Today, KEL offers a diverse product portfolio in transmission components like gears, shafts,
axles, and more; engine components, including crankshafts, cylinder heads, camshafts, with
complete gearbox and engine assemblies for auto and non-auto products. Our products are
of superior engineering and manufacturing supremacy. KEL produces numerous body
components, including chassis, rims, mufflers, etc. Additionally, KEL offers services like press
shop, weld shop, and paint shop. Likewise, assembling complete vehicles is a part of our
special services to exclusive clients.

HISTORY
The company was incorporated on 8th February, 1984 in Madhya Pradesh.It was promoted
jointly by kinetic Engineering Ltd. Pune and Honda Motor Co. Ltd. Japan.The company
entered into a technical collaboration contract with Honda Motor co. Ltd., Japan who
agreed to provide complete technical assistance to the company comprising technical
documents consisting the know-how, information on construction of the plant for the
manufacture and guidance in connection with procurement of manufacturing facilities,
Honda also agreed to participate in the equity share capital of the company to the extent of
28.56%. The Technical collaboration agreement was for 10 years from 8th August, 1984. The
company was to pay Honda, Technical know-how fee of Rs. 47 Lakhs and Royalty at the rate
of 4% for a period of 7 years from the date of commercial prodcution.
During 1987-88, the company entered into a technical collaboration agreement with Kinetic
Engg. Ltd., for technical knowhow for the manufacture of Luna Mopeds, within the available
installed capacity.
2000
Pune-based Kinetic Motoros Company Ltd has been awarded the `highest exporter with
continuous export excellence award' in the non-SSI category, by the Engineering Exports
Promotional Counail.
Two-wheeler majors -- Kinetic Engineering Ltd and Kinetic Motor Company Ltd, both
part of the Rs 1,000-crore Kinetic Group have together appointed Madison Media, the
media buying unit of Madison Communications as their Agency on Record.
The Company will launch an upgraded version of its 98 cc Scooter Marvel to overcome
the market perception of being a single product company.
Kinetic group's automotive businss has been split into three operating divisions,
comprising the scooter, moped and motorcycle businesses.
2001
The Compensation Committee of the board of directors has allotted 39,100 No. of equity
shares of Rs 10 each at a premium of Rs 20 per share to 19 employees exercising their
`option' under company's ESOP.
Kinetic on August 16 launched a 110 cc scooter and said it would introduce a new
motorcycle range next month as part of its strategy to achieve a Rs 2,000 crore turnover
in fiscal 2003. Called 'ZX Zoom', the new scooter has been priced at Rs 37,215.
2002 - Kinetic Motor Company Ltd has informed BSE that Mr A M Shirolkar has been
appointed as Director (Technical) of the company with effect from November 1, 2002.
2003
The Board approved Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) for company's employees
working at Pithampur plant.
Kinetic Motors launched the `Campus Chill' - a new variant of Kinetic.
