Topic: Organizational Theory Course: RD 804

Instruction: This form is to reflect your experiences, opinion and current vision on the
topic of the course.

State a brief introduction of the topic?

Organizational theory studies organizations to identify the patterns and structures they use to solve
problems, maximize efficiency and productivity, and meet the expectations of stakeholders.
Organizational theory then uses these patterns to formulate normative theories of how organizations
function best. Therefore, organizational theory can be used in order to learn the best ways to run an
organization or identify organizations that are managed in such a way that they are likely to be successful.

What are your expectations and objectives of the topic?


As a future leader I am expecting to learn some salient points of the theory that are applicable in
educational management. Managing people is a skill but professional basis is necessary in doing so. In
respond with the changing needs of the organization in terms of personnel, physical plant, resources and
staff development the leader must learn what are the adaptive strategies for the attainment of
organization’s goal. I am looking for basic requirements in building perfect organization. Another
objective I have with the topic is to develop my management skills in delegating task, appropriate giving
of rewards and how to adjust with internal and external environment.

Did you meet your expectations and were you able to realize your objectives?
Definitely, I have learned that this theory will really help managers in different fields to run their
organization smoothly. The important learnings I had is that the success of organization lies on the
shoulder of the managers but the collaboration among members is highly needed especially in the
operations. The main objective of organizational theory is how to solve work related problems and
maximize efficiency and productivity.

Did your opinion on awareness of the topic raise personal change and within your organization?
As a grade chairman in our grade level I am able to exercise the principles of organizational theory.
The assignment of tasks was properly delegated depends on the skills and competence of teacher. The
budget from DepEd is insufficient to finance activities and programs of the school and resourcing of
budget from the stakeholders is the best solution in achieving goals. To maximize the participation of
parents we develop strategies to encourage them to assists teachers in the implementation of different
program like Gulayan sa Paaralan and making every classroom a functional one.

Have you identified critical incidence(s) in which your organization made an appropriate action? State
and describe briefly.
The critical incidence related to the topic that actually happening in our organization is the proper
utilization of budget. The previous administration failed to liquidated the budget accordingly. The
current organization change the process wherein every teacher is well informed about the total amount
received by signing in the certificate of acceptance showing the check. Another incidence was the
duplication of assignment/coordinatorship. Our principal involved everyone in the technical,physical
and financial operation of the school.

Topic: Modernization Theory Course: RD 804

Instruction: This form is to reflect your experiences, opinion and current vision on the
topic of the course.

State a brief introduction of the topic?

Modernization theory is used to explain the process of modernization within societies.


Modernization refers to a model of a progressive transition from a 'pre-modern' or 'traditional' to a
'modern' society. The theory looks at the internal factors of a country while assuming that with assistance,
"traditional" countries can be brought to development in the same manner more developed countries have
been. Modernization theorists often saw traditions as obstacles to economic growth. Modernization
theory both attempts to identify the social variables that contribute to social progress and development
of societies and seeks to explain the process of social evolution.

What are your expectations and objectives of the topic?


The main expectation I have with the topic is the process of modernization and how this will affect
to the efficiency, productivity and operation of the organization. I want to understand how the social
change influence the behavior of the employee towards work. The great contribution of technology in
different organization is unquestionable.

Did you meet your expectations and were you able to realize your objectives?
I have realized that modernization improve the services that we can offer to the public. Like for
instance in education, The integration of ICT will increase the motivation of the students to learn. It also
lessens the burden of the teachers in making instructional materials. Students nowadays are susceptible
to change they can easily absorb the lesson with the aid of audio-visual learning instruction. The
Department of Education invests a huge budget to bring technology even in the far flung area through
DepED Computerization Program. This gives equal opportunity for learners to widen their vocabulary,
scientific skills, mathematical competence and literacy.

Did your opinion on awareness of the topic raise personal change and within your organization?
As ICT Coordinator of the school I have to use the knowledge I have gained in the topic. There are
teachers who are resistant to change, they refuse to learn even the basic skills in computer. I have to
change their point of view and encourage them that integration of ICT in teaching and learning process
is fun and beneficial. I will conduct series of Action Learning Cells to help technologically challenged
teacher to develop their love in technology and wash away their fear on it by providing trainings that will
equipped them and be confident enough in using technology in teaching.

Have you identified critical incidence(s) in which your organization made an appropriate action? State
and describe briefly.
The only problem we have that is related to modernization is that majority of the teachers are lack
of basic computer skills. Department of Education encourage every teacher to be a computer literate
because most of the report is submitted and generated online such as enrolment of learners, attendance
and movement of the students, inventory of materials and reporting of school facilities and personnel
which will serve as the basis of the department on how they are going to provide assistance to a certain
school. The action that our organization are helping the teachers to be computer literate through
trainings and encouraging them to use ICT in teaching.

Topic: Motivation, Satisfaction And Performance Course: RD 804

Instruction: This form is to reflect your experiences, opinion and current vision on the
topic of the course.

State a brief introduction of the topic?


Motivation is about encouraging people to do things, and motivating others is a fundamental
leadership skill. Highly motivated and satisfied followers are the contributors of excellence in the
organization. Every people are born to be achiever but because of lack of motivation they opt not to give
their best. proper motivation will drive every employee to perform better and be satisfied.

What are your expectations and objectives of the topic?


This topic raised my interest because someday I will manage people so it is important to be
informed what are the appropriate motivation to be employed to satisfy workers and motivate them to
give their best performance to serve the students, parents and the community at large. I am expecting to
learn professional skills in handling people. To understand their needs and be able to provide technical
assistance. To influence them positively and develop their love and devotion in teaching.
Did you meet your expectations and were you able to realize your objectives?
Yes. I have gain understanding that people possess a set of motivation systems unrelated to rewards
or unconscious desires and are motivated to achieve certain needs. In the discussion of the topic I have
realized that the motivation also differs on people, culture and behavior in the organization. One must
satisfy lower level basic needs before progressing on to meet higher level growth needs.
Did your opinion on awareness of the topic raise personal change and within your organization?
I am one of the million employees that needs motivation to strive but as a public servant we have to
work well even if no one is watching. We have to be self-motivated for our self-worth and satisfaction.
Besides, we oath before the Republic of the Philippines to perform our duties and responsibilities as a
public servant.

Have you identified critical incidence(s) in which your organization made an appropriate action? State
and describe briefly.
Teachers in our school are motivated because our principal provide motivation. We have Gulayan sa
Paaralan Program. Teachers spend money together with the PTA. They are after the rewards of P30,000
which will be use in improving classroom and providing instructional materials for pupils. They try to
come to school early because every quarter the top 3 teachers will received principals’ award. The
teachers contribute their valuable effort in different contests also receive a certificate. A certificate is just
a piece of paper but will mean a lot to the recipient to do better.
