ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

First, the ICA Science High School Student Government would like to thank our

Lord God for giving us strength and the will to do the respective tasks and

responsibilities for such a fruitful and successful school year.

They would also like to express their utmost gratitude to their club adviser, Mrs.

Arshe C. Anda, for giving her full-hearted support in guiding this school year’s Student

Government.

They would also like to thank ICA Science High School’s OIC, Mrs. Rhieza P.

Umandal and ICA Directress, Mrs. Celia S. Rasing for their utmost support and approval

for this Student Government.

They would also like to thank the Student Government officers’ parents, families,

friends, and classmates for being part of this journey as ICA Science High School

Student Government for the Academic Year 2018-2019.


MISSION AND VISION

Mission

The Mission of the Science High School Student Government A.Y. 2018-2019 is to

provide an atmosphere of unity within the student body, causing a better high school

experience and a better reputation in the community.

Vision

Immaculate Conception Academy Science High School – Student Government A.Y.

2018-2019 aims to enhance the advancement of student life and participation, to spark a

desire in students and staff, to become active in what the high school has to offer, and to

be recognized as a voice of the ICAnian students.

NARRATIVES

IPO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OUTREACH

August 25, 2018 – Selected students of Immaculate Conception Academy Science High

School Campus participated in the “YES-O Tree Planting and Outreach Program” event

of ASMEPPS at Norzagaray, Bulacan. The Presidents, Officers, and Members of

different student clubs were present in the event. Each club organized a simple present

for the children of IPO Elementary School. There were 53 Grade 4 students present

according to the principal of the school. The Student Government prepared some snacks

(bread, Nissin wafers, and egg). The President and Vice President distributed it fairly

amongst the students. Each participant was glad and grateful after the gift giving because

of the gracious smiles of the children.


CRIME PREVENTION SEMINAR

On September 28, 2018, Friday, the Immaculate Conception Academy- Science

High School actively participated in the 24th National Crime Prevention Week Seminar

at ICA Plaza AVR. At around 8 am, the students, grades 7-10, were gathered at the

auditorium for the program. The seminar was started by an opening prayer that was led

by Ms. Priscilla Cipres, and then singing the National Anthem. Before the program

started, the guests from the Dasmariñas Police District were warmly welcomed by the

members of the faculty and students. The first talk about crime prevention and awareness

was led by Spo3 Polly B. Padios Crime investigation pnco. After the talk, everybody was

given a chance to ask their questions, which was gladly answered by the police officers.

After the open forum, the last talk was immediately started. This talk was about rape

awareness and prevention and was conducted by Spo3 Mary Grace T. Bendulo Wcpd

pnco. Just like the first talk, it was also followed by an open forum, and was answered by

the officers. The last part of the seminar was the awarding of the certificates to the

officers, and a closing remark from the SG President, Vivien Dela Cruz. After that,

students were given their certificates, and went upstairs for the resume of classes.
PLASTIC COLLECTION

On the month of October, the Student Government conducted a plastic and paper

collection to lessen the wastes and they sold it to the junkshop to accumulate funds for

their following projects.


TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

Teaching is the noblest profession. Every teacher shall manifest genuine

enthusiasm and pride in teaching as noble calling. Last October 4, 2018, Immaculate

Conception Academy- Science High School has successfully celebrated the culmination

of the World Teacher’s Day with the theme: “Gurong Pilipino: Turo Mo, Kinabukasan

Ko”.

On October 4, 2018, 2:00 pm, the celebration was held at the fifth floor of ICA-

Plaza with the help of the students who led the very special program to honor the

hardworking and passionate teachers. The program started with an opening prayer

followed by the singing of National Anthem. This was proceeded by an opening remark,

and then games. While playing games, there were some snacks and candies served to the

teachers, and the students fall in line to have their own snacks and candies. After eating,

it was time to see what each class has prepared. Every grade level presented their own

surprise for the teachers whether it be singing or dancing.

The last and most exciting part of the program was the giving of special awards

and gifts to the teachers. After that, the teachers and all the students took a picture, and

began cleaning the post-party mess.


HALLOWEEN PARTY

On November 5, 2018 at the fourth and fifth floor of Immaculate Conception

Academy- Science High School happened the first ever Halloween Party of the Sci-High

community to celebrate the event. The fourth floor was decorated to spook everyone out

of their wits. The students also showed up with their best costume to represent their

Halloween mood. The event started on the fourth floor as every club has set-up their own

booth for everyone to enjoy. The booths set-up in each classroom are as follows:

7-Galileo- Karaoke

7-Mendeleev- Escape Room

8-Aristotle- Jail Booth

9-Edison- Café

10-Einstein- VR Experience

There was also a food stall on the front before you enter the booths area. Everyone explored

each booth, and they had fun. At around 4 pm, the high school students went up to the fifth

floor to enjoy the gig the bands have prepared. The bands performed amazing songs that

made everyone really feel the event. Before the event ended, the committees awarded the

“Best in Costume” in both girls’ and boys’ categories and took some pictures for memories.
CHRISTMAS PARTY

Sci-high’s annual Christmas Party was held on a rainy day on the 14th of

December 2018 at 8’oclock in the morning at the roof deck of ICA-Plaza. As per usual,

every program starts with an opening prayer to be followed by the National Anthem. The

awarding of perfect attendance and honors immediately followed this, and then the

grades 9 and 10 performed their PETA in Music. After those wonderful performances, it

was time to play games! Everyone enjoyed the games they played in. This was followed

by lunch, and then ice cream for dessert. After everyone was delighted with lunch, it was

time for the most awaited part- gift giving! Everyone brought their exchange gifts for

their secret santa, and at the count of three everyone went and gave their monito and

monita the gifts they’ve prepared. Then when everyone was finished admiring their

presents, it was time for some awards! After the award session, a group picture was

taken, and some cleaning!


ANNUAL OUTREACH PROGRAM “PASKO MO

KABAHAGI AKO”

This year’s annual Outreach Program “Pasko Mo Kabahagi Ako” was held last

December 22,2018 at the ICA Plaza Lobby. This program aims to help other people and

to share the blessings we’re receiving.

The program was handled by the Student Government and it started at 8:00 am

and the invocation was led by Emmanuel L. Mantaring. This was followed by the

opening remarks of Barangay Captain, Medrado P. Hayag of Zone 4. After the opening

remarks, the Student Government and ICA Plaza faculty started to give the relief goods.

More than a hundred persons received good. After the gift giving, the closing remarks

was led by Mrs. Rhieza P. Umandal


MIRRORS FOR 4TH FLOOR RESTROOM

On the month of January, the Student Government donated two mirrors for the 4th

floor restroom. The one mirror costs Php 220. It aims to help students to fix their

appearances.
CORNERSTONE OUTREACH AT DASMARINAS

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Helping everyone is not easy as it can be sometimes it can be tough and

challenging, but the pay-off is all worth it. Therefore, the different clubs of Immaculate

Conception Academy- Science High School joined forces to give back to the less

fortunate. In order to give back they’ve devised a plan to help the kids who study during

weekend. They’ve gathered donations like food, clothes, and school supplies to give to

kids.

At around 7:00 am last Saturday, March 9, 2019, the students of Sci-High and

officers of different clubs, who allotted time to join the event, gathered at ICA-Plaza to

get ready before heading to the main place. The students headed straight to Dasmarinas

Elementary School for the outreach. After a while of waiting for the kids, they’ve

proceeded to greeting the kids and praying. The short but meaningful prayer was

followed by an introduction of the officers who greeted the children happily. After that,

the games went into the spotlight. The children enjoyed the games and was each given a

prize and a consolation prize. After the games, the children were served their food. While

eating a roleplay of a parable is act out by the students. After they’ve eaten, the gifts were

given, and pictures were taken.


CORNER STONE OUTREACH AT FRANCISCO E.

BARZAGA MEMORIAL SCHOOL

YEAR END BALL 2019

March 29, 2019 was one of the remarkable dates of the year. Since, during this

day, around one o’clock in the afternoon, the students of the Immaculate Conception

Academy – Science High School celebrated the Year End Ball of the School Year 2018-

2019. This event was organized by all the high school clubs hosted by the Student

Government ’18- ’19 and took place at the school building’s roof deck. This special day

was made for the students to savor their last days before the school year ends and to

unwind themselves from the stress this school years brought.

High school students from different grade levels are wearing their stunning casual

clothes and flaunted it throughout the whole affair. The event has an entrance fee which

cost twenty pesos. The Year End Ball started with a spoken poetry from Charles Jose and

Lee Ann Sasota of grade 10 – Einstein followed by the performances of grade 8 –

Aristotle and grade 10 – Einstein who sang few songs. By two o’clock in the afternoon,

the real party starts with pop songs played in the air filling the ambiance of the venue.

Students grooved and danced with rhythm of music. Different genres were also played

aside from pop songs that made everyone enjoyed themselves together with their

schoolmates. The affair ended around five in the afternoon, exhausted but pleased and

elated.
CANDIES EVERY PERIODICAL TEST

Every Periodical Test week, the Student Government is giving a pack of candies

for every classroom of elementary and high school. It aims to help relieve the students’

stress during periodical exams by providing candies. (In the figure below, the officers are

repacking different candies for the elementary and high school students.)
WEEKLY WATER SUPPLY

The Student Government provides 10 gallons of water every week for the

dispenser at the 4th floor for the high school students. It costs Php 25 per gallon. This

aims to give students their necessity for water.


MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES AND VERSES EVERY

PERIODICAL TEST

The Student Government officers printed motivational quotes and bible verses for

each student and paste it in their armchairs before Periodical Exams. It aims to help

relieve the students’ stress during periodical exams by posting motivational quotes and

verses.
