I. Objectives:
1. Tell the location of objects using in, on and under.

Topic: Using In, On, and Under.
Reference: BEC-PELC p.7#1 p.8#8.
Materials: Pictures, Real objects, Worksheets.

“Before we start our discussion for today, let us


first sing the song “I Have Ten Little Fingers”

B. Lesson Proper

a. Motivation

“Last time, I read to you a story about Vilma


and her Vineyard workers. Let us read a poem
about grapes.”

Red grapes
Purple grapes
Green grapes
They are all so good to eat
(The class will read the poem)
Sweet grapes
Juicy grapes
Nourishing grapes
I just love grapes, don’t you?

b. Presentation

“Grapes can be found in a vineyard. Here is a


picture of a vineyard.”

(Present the picture of a vineyard)

“What can you see in the picture?” “Grapes.”

“Where are the grapes found?’ “In the box. On the table. Under the bench.”

(Paste the pupils’ answers)

c. Discussion

(Let the pupils read each sentence)

1. Some grapes are in the box (Pupils read each sentence)


2. Some grapes are on the table.
3. Some grapes are under the bench.

“What word in the sentences tells where the “in, on, under”
objects are found?”

“The words in, on and under show where the


objects are found or located.”

(The teacher will show a ball and a box)

“What is this?” “That is a ball!”

“How about this one, what is this?” “That is a box!”

(Teacher will put the ball on top of the box)

“Where is the ball?” “The ball is on the box.”

“Correct! The ball is on the box. If the object


is on top of something, we use the word on.’

(Teacher will put the ball on the table)

“Now, where is the ball?” “The ball is on the table.”

(Put the ball inside the box)

“Where is the ball?” “The ball is in the box.”

“Correct! The ball is in the box. If the object


is inside of something, we use the word in to
tell its location.”

(Put the ball inside the bag)

“Where is the ball now?” “The ball is in the bag.”

(Put the ball under the box)

“Where is the ball?”

“Very good! The ball is under the box.” “The ball is under the box.”

(The teacher will get more objects inside the


box and show it to the class. Put it in different
location and ask where is it)

“Look for something under your desk.”

“Tell me, what things are found under your


desk”

“Will you please put those on your desk?”

“Where did you put your things?” “On our desk.”

“Will you please put those in your bag?”

“Where did you put your things?” “In our bag.”

d. Application

1. Tell the location of the pictures

“I have here a box filled with different


pictures. You start passing this box while I am
playing the music. When the music stops, the
one who’s holding this box will pick one
picture and tell the location of the objects
using in, on, under.”

2. Group Activity

(Teacher will divide the class into four groups.


Each group will have an activity)

Group 1.
Directions: Follow the instructions in drawing
objects.

1. Draw a table.
2. Draw a basket under the table.
3. Draw a ball in the basket.
4. Draw a pencil on the table.
5. Color your work.

Group 2.
Directions: Complete the sentences using in,
on, under.
