Building Bridges With Differences
“Every human is like all other humans, some other humans, and no other human.”
(Kluckhohn n.d.). Intercultural communication happens when an exchange of information,
feelings and meaning by means of verbal and non-verbal messages between people who hail
from different backgrounds, with regards to who they are in their respective place in society.
Through intercultural communication, we are able to deal across cultures which is important in
this ever, progressing world where we come into contact more and more with people who are
culturally different.
Having the capacity to deal with cultural differences, peacefully, never mind creatively
and innovatively, is becoming a survival issue to thrive. Furthermore, humans are not a
homogeneous group, even though there are similarities there are more differences, but because
we have these differences, we can use them as foundations in building on what we share as the
common good which I believe every single person possesses.
