Religion
Most religious leaders started administering safety precautions to its followers while also
embracing their spirituality and faith to confront the health, social and economic challenges
(Robinson, 2020). They started limiting social gatherings and events to lessen the continual
spread of the virus. Face masks, Face shield and alcohol gels are being donated and shared
among the members to conduct precautions against the virus from spreading rapidly. Moreover
events that involved close contact like kissing, hugging and sharing of food is also prohibited as
this is partly one of the major reason the virus is spreading rapidly. Some religions shifted on
online platforms and started live streaming their services for the people to watch and worship
weekly. Church community offer daily exercise, meditation and worship during service.
Religious leaders also offer faith to the people to remain calm and stop them from panicking to
the covid-19 pandemic. People especially the ones in the marginalized sector of the society,
people who are most vulnerable needed help. Religious leaders are encouraging people to engage
in charity whether it be donating money or partake on a service like giving out food, clothes or
medical supplies (Miller, 2020). Charities can offer medical supplies and foods for those on the
lower sector of the society. As said from the leaders we must continue to pray especially for
those working in the frontline. They are considered as the true heroes because they help and
volunteer even at the risk of their own health and family.
Religion is never insignificant to the society, if ever it is irrelevant then it would not be one
of the fundamental part of the social institution. It is definitely one of the most vital part of the
society and will continue to give hope to people at every time of their lives.
