    of the United States, whether
    administrative, judicial, military or police,
    may enter UN Headquarters, except with
    the consent of and under conditions
    agreed to by the Secretary-General of the
    Organization.

    forces, and its own post office branch.

    The site was purchased with a donation of


    $8.5 million by John D. Rockefeller and
    used to host slaughterhouses and a barge
    landing.

    From 2008 – 2014, the entire site was renovated, upgraded and
    restored in a project known as the “Capital Master Plan” which
    brought the buildings up to code, improved the environmental
    footprint of the site and upgraded security. The total cost which was
    borne by Member States was $2.15 billion.
