INTRODUCTION
“ Elder people are a treasure of the society ,their rich bag of experience has loads of learning
to offer to all. The fast moving society is undergoing a transformation with more senior citizens
considering living in senior living home
Childhood is a tender and delicate stage in the life span of a human being. At this stage people
require a great deal of care, love and nurture in order to have a robust set of values and morals. The
required care, love and nurture are generally imparted to us by our families.
The thesis Home for orphans and Elderly is an endeavor to create space where the two groups can
live together, where one group can provide the other with what they lack.
AIM:
The project would be to establish a mutual relationship amongst the two groups.
OBJECTIVE:
The elderly would act as a parents while the children would be a source of happiness, someone in
need, a responsibility. The elderly could play an important role in the children's lives, likewise the
children could play an important role in lives of the elderly.

Literature Review -Interview with professionals - Case Studies - Survey with common peoples - Site
analysis - Design consideration - Architectural program - Zoning - Master planning - Detailed planning

THRUST AREA:
The project also encourages people from outside to mingle with the people living in the home. This
is done through community activities, library, computer lab, spaces for art and craft, music and dance
and vocational workshop spaces. One would also have to cater to the needs and requirements of an
elderly and children at one place but they would have to function independently.

INTRODUCTION
The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) are a group of autonomous government
public medical colleges of higher education. A medical institute and hospital based.
AIM:
To design a space for the medical students and for practicing medical researches and facilities in
the southern part of India.
OBJECTIVE:
It offers a variety of medical courses; one of these is the MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and
Bachelor of Surgery).
It is a global leader in medical science. Within a year, it has more than 600 research publications
from its researchers & faculty.
It also runs a College of Nursing to have B.Sc Hons. Degree in nursing and operates a hospital
with 60 beds in Ballabgarh, Haryana.
AIIMS has twenty-five clinical departments covering all aspects of clinical conditions, which include
four super speciality centres.
SCOPE:
It is expected that the medical institute in Madurai will ramp up the medical facilities in the state.
AIIMS would uplift Madurai economically as transport connectivity would also go up. Most
significantly, it would benefit people from over 15 districts in terms of medical facilities and also
bring many jobs to the region.

THRUST AREA:
The main intention of this study is to create Institutional and Medical research spaces for the
students to get trained and create medical advancement facilities to the public.
SITE:
The site is just 15kms away from the proposed new airport at madurai.
Good connectivity from the site to the southern districts of India: 4 lane connectivity from the
national highway road is beside the site.
20MVA power supply from two different feeders and adequate water supply to the site.
