1. What are the four categories of Output?

The four categories of output are


 visual,
 audio,
 print and
 data output devices.

2. What are LCD monitors, LCD screens, Plasma monitors and HDTVs?

LCD monitors is a flat panel screen that uses the liquid crystal display (LCD) technology
and connects to a computer. Laptops have used LCD screens almost exclusively, and the
LCD monitor is the standard display screen for desktop computers. It uses liquid crystal
display, have a small footprint, mobile devices that contain LCD displays include
Notebook computer, Tablet PC, PDA, and Smart Phone. Plasma monitors displays image
by applying voltage to layer of gas, larger screen size and higher display quality than
LCD, but are more expensive. HDTV is a high-quality video standard developed to
replace older video formats often referred to as SDTV (standard definition television).
High-definition television (HD) describes a television system providing an image
resolution of substantially higher resolution than the previous generation
of technologies.

3. What are the advantages of non-impact printers? What are the advantages
of impact printers?
Non-impact printers don't dent or tear the surface of the paper, and better
models can produce sharper images than impact models do using ribbons to
make their imprints. Non-impact printers can also print in multiple colors.
Impact printers can make multi-copy forms because the printhead actually
strikes the paper. Advantages of impact printers: Low cost of consumables
(Ink) because they use multi-pass ribbons, can print on multi-part forms
(Carbon or Carbonless), can print on page sizes other than 8 1/2 x 11 You
can get custom sizes, there are specialty impact printers that can have
multiple forms loaded simultaneously and be selected by software.

4. What are softcopy outputs?


Soft copy output devices give screen displayed output that is lost when the computer is
shut off. Soft copy is an electronic display of digital information, such as files viewed on
the pc monitor. A digital JPG file, a digital Word document, an email attachment are all
examples of soft copy. Soft copy refers to the digital document file or electronic version
of a document which is not printed on paper. In soft copy the output is present in the
USB drives and computers etc and sometimes it is referred as temporary copy. For
example- ENews paper, Ebook, pdf notes, scanned notes etc.

5. Imagine that you are buying a personal computer. What output device
would you choose and why?

If I were to choose what kind of output device I will buy, that would be printer. Printer is
so important to student especially in printing notes or reviewers. It’ll be much easier for
us to study and can help us a lot.
